i have a movie i watched many years ago and for the life of me can not remember the title. So maybe someone on here knows it.


Its about a family on a boat or yacht that is out at sea. I believe a whale ends up striking their boat and they begin to take on water and are forced to a life boat. There is a dad, mom, son, daughter, and some weird 25 yr old guy or so. They are lost at sea and at one point the dad catches a turtle for them to eat

its not a horror movie, its a family survival type. i can picture the families faces, but for the life of me cant remember the movies name

more detail on the plot would help, did they survive, get rescued, end up on a island?

the family gets rescued at sea, they have a life raft and a small dingy type boat. if memory serves another daughter who is not with them is the one leading for a search and rescue

It's not Dead Calm. In that movie, the wife was taken hostage and there were no kids. Really good movie, though. Nicole Kidman was the female lead and Billy Zane was the psycho.

I remember that movie, as a kid it totally grossed me out when they started sucking on turtle innards , now just give me some lime juice and some hot sauce and call it dinner.
