You get some really whacks and some that are really cool just looking to change their life. I use a PO box, sure as shit aint giving a real address.

i probably do 10 a year or so. Gotta watch though, some can be VERY manipulative. But I figure hey, if roles were reversed it would be nice getting letters from the outside world with current news/technology/events. most these guys/girls will never see the "outside" again.

we all make mistakes in life, some are more life changing than others

I love watching old black and white movies from the 40s primarily, especially mysteries. The old Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce Sherlock Holmes series is one of my favorites. I have all the classic Humphrey Bogart movies like The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep, To Have and Have not, Casablanca, Treasure of The Sierra Madre, The Caine Mutiny, Passage to Marseilles, Sahara, The African Queen, etc. I also have some real old from the 30's Charlie Chan movies. Another favorite are the William Powell/Myrna Loy - The Thin Man series, those are comedies more than mysteries but some are excellent flicks regardless.

Other classics like 12 Angry Men, Double Indemnity, Grapes of Wrath, To Kill a Mockingbird.

I could go on for a while there are so many good ones..Oddly I have never been a big Orsen Welles fan. Citizen Kane is lost on me.

try it out, interesting really. you can read about them before you send them anything.

i do make it an obligation to write consistently to some. not write for a while then abruptly stop, that is disrepectful IMO

I like Hitchcock a lot, most of his best work was shot in the 50s and 60s and in color but not all. His best known works are very diverse but truly excellent movies.

Psycho, North by Northwest, The Birds, Vertigo, Rear Window, To Catch a Thief, Torn Curtain, Topaz, plus some of his older stuff like Suspicion, The 39 Steps, Lifeboat, Notorious, Foreign Correspondent, The Lady Vanishes and Spellbound among some others are must see for buffs like me.

Hitchcock had a knack for using fine actors and actresses repeatedly. Cary Grant, James Stewart, Ingid Bergman and Grace Kelly, Leo G. Carroll and Edmund Gwenn are some of his most well known regulars.

Hitch was nominated for five Best Director Oscars but never won. He was awarded The Prestigious Erving G. Thalberg Memorial Award in the late 60s. Others who have won The Thalberg include Clint Eastwood, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Walt Disney and even a pioneer like Cecil B. DeMille.

The TV show Alfred Hitchcock Presents I haven't seen in years but found it truly entertaining even when I was a kid in the late 50s. Hitchcock was a true genius in his field.
