I have never once in all my years capping played a reverse run line with the dog laying the -1.5 Any of you guys ever play these? And if so what is your take/opinion for or against. I've been kicking the idea around a bit. Thinking of using that -1 formula for run lines that Illini mentioned to me as opposed to laying the -1.5 Lets get some discussion going. Newbies want to hear your opinions just as much as I do the Vets so don't be shy. If you have a take on these lets hear it? I will check back in later to read some of the opinions.

I think its a good idea, I have never done it but you will have to pick your spots. But either way if you picked 2 games a couple times a week and wentt 50/50 you would turn a decent profit.

They are great bets, imo.

About 25% of all MLB games end with a one-run differential. However, with that being said, even the worst teams still win games by more than 1 run. So, if you are confident in a team and going to play a dog, if you look at some trends, there is very good value in it.

Perfect example, 2 weeks or 3 weeks ago. Tommie Hunter on the mound for Texas home vs Tampa. Tampa was -130 or so with Garza on the road, in hitter friendly park. Texas for the game was +115 or so, Texas on the ALT RL was +195, they won 6-1. I liked the spot and I took it. I have not had too many ALT RL not come in because the dog won by 1. They usually just lost outright, so I personally think there is some very good value in it.

Just stick to the basics of picking a winner. Only one thing matters: who will WIN THE GAME? You have to know who will win the game before it starts. If you can do that, all the rest of this is just silly chit-chat. All this talk of RLM, picking "spots" is bullshit. People get too caught up in what the "public" vs "sharps" (both terms are bullshit) do to a line. I say "so what"!! Pick your winner, get down, and collect.

I'm thinking of doing that. I had kicked around creating my own -1 dog line. But it would be Murphy's Law that if I did that my dog would probaly win by 1 and I would have nothing to show for the play....LOL

Great thread so far. I want to start throwing out some subjects in the coming days/weeks to get some banter/opinions on some different subjects.
