Portugal vs. Brazil
Friday, 10 am Eastern – ESPN

Friday’s World Cup odds match between Portugal and Brazil could be one of the most entertaining in the group stage. Both teams are advancing to the knockout round so this match will be for the top spot in Group G. Brazil is the favorite in this match but Portugal comes into the match with a lot of confidence off a 7-0 rout of North Korea. Portugal had six different goal scorers against North Korea including Cristiano Ronaldo who finally broke his goal scoring drought.

Brazil is the favorite in soccer odds at SBG Global.

The three-way soccer line at SBG has Brazil at +125, Portugal at +260 and the Draw at +180. The total on the match is 2.5 under. Brazil is the favorite in this match but they have not been overly impressive in their first two matches. They beat North Korea by a score of 2-1 and then they got by Ivory Coast 3-1. Portugal played to a draw with Ivory Coast before routing North Korea.

Brazil will be without Kaka who is suspended for this game but Portugal will be missing Deco due to injury. Neither absence should be a problem as both Brazil and Portugal have capable replacements. In fact, Tiago has played better than Deco for Portugal.

Portugal has not officially advanced to the knockout round but they have a nine goal advantage over Ivory Coast in goal differential so they would have to get routed by Brazil while Ivory Coast would have to win big against North Korea for them not to advance. Portugal is going through so they can focus on getting the win against Brazil which could be huge since the loser of this match might have to face Spain in the knockout round.

Brazil has won 12 of the 18 matches against Portugal all-time. They have met just once in the World Cup betting with Portugal winning 3-1 in 1966. Portugal has won two of the last three meetings against Brazil but they did lose 6-2 in the last one.

This match between Portugal and Brazil in Group G can be seen on ESPN beginning at 10 am Eastern time on Friday. At the same time on ESPN 2 it will be North Korea facing Ivory Coast.
