This shit is tough boys. I haven't studied some of these math concepts in nearly 20 years. My advice to you is study well ahead of time.

Test is tomorrow so I'm going to give up the studying in a few and go "all in."

Those type of tests = get one or more of those books from the library and take all of the evaluation and practice tests. (PSAT, SAT II, GMAT, LSAT, etc.).

If you have the dough, you could go to one of those classes or tutors, but they really just do more of the same (ex-pro. tutor).

Get enough sleep, and eat some breakfast. Good luck!

Yeah, have the book and have taken so many practice tests. I've narrowed down my problem areas (exponents, square root, antonyms) but it's a crap shoot going into the real deal. I know exactly what will be on the test, how many questions and my time limit but when it comes right down to it if you don't know the vocabulary words you're kind of screwed.

Took the GMAT last year for the 2nd time and did far better this time around. Some tips...

- Take the test as early in the morning as possible. The absolute worst thing I did the first time was take it after work....I was already mentally drained from a day at work, then walked into the test center for a 4-hour session. Bad move. Even if you're not a morning person, you'll be far less tired if the test is the first thing you have to think about during the day (well, presuming you don't go get hammered the night before).

- Simulate the test environment as much as possible. Take the computerized practice exams. The GMAT lasts 4 hrs, and I did a few 5-hr sessions. It's just a matter of getting used to how the test will play out. The first time, I'd study for an hour here and there, but never went the full four. It makes a huge difference in the end.

- At some point tonight, just stop studying. If you don't know it by now, you're probably not going to learn a whole lot of new crap and may just end up confusing yourself. Just go see a movie, watch some porn, whatever...and clear your mind for tomorrow.

I got a bunch of friends who just took it and they are pretty much average at school and general intelligence. One friend of mine literally couldn't tell me 1/3 of 12 yet still did well enough to get into all the schools they applied to. Don't think the test is that big of a deal but i guess it depends on the schools and what subject, best of luck tho

Well, yes and no. I graduated from college in 1998 and last took a math class in about 1995 so you do the math (no pun intended) on the skills you lose over 15 years when it comes to basic algebra. Fractions, exponents, word problems all need to be brushed up on after that long of time.
