In the second half of the season, I think they may be a good team to watch to make some money. The reason I say that is because they are playing like .275 baseball, which puts them on pace to be 44-118. I think it is very rare (although I couldn't find the exact records) that a team loses 115 or even 110 games in a season. This reminds me when KC had a start like this in '05, I believe. They were playing like .250 ball at this point and ended up losing 'only' 106 games. I made some cash playing them in the second half that season.
Looking at their lineup tonight, they have Tajeda, Markaksis, Scott,A. Jones, Weiters, Atkins at 2-7. That is not too bad. They should be able to score some runs from time-to-time. Obviously, their pitching must suck. I don't know about their defense or if they play hard. I know they may be getting Brian Roberts back soon. Anyway, just thought I'd throw this out there, point being it is really hard to lose 118 games no matter how bad you are.

They are like last year's nationals. I'm gonna start fading them next week.
I'd say the Pirates are worse, but as far as the American league goes they are bad. Definatley fade that team and pick your spots.

Some of things they do just baffle me. Last year they brought up Berken and he just got pounded game after game, was wondering whohe could of been blackmailing to stay in the rotation. This year he made the club again, I assume as the last pitcher and he has a 1.78 era but they hardly ever pitch him. You would think as bad as they are, they would give this guy a start soon. When he does get it I will be playing against him if the price is not outrageous.

If you would've put $100 on them every game since I posted this, you would be up $894.
Even though they went just 8-7. I'm telling you when a team is hovering around the .250 mark that much into the season you can make some cash on them. It doesn't happen often but it does happen.

berken in the 8th, w/simon in the ninth, is working pretty well. they really went bad when they didn't have simon. some of those hitters are going to be traded. i don't know what tejada's contract status is, but i would love to have him for pennant insurance. the twins should've snapped him up a long time ago.

i have a friend who is a major twins fan.....and i always ask him why they dont feel entitled tog etting more than 1 hr thru 80 games from their 3b slot.....their 3b hits 9th...doesnt hit for average...and when called upon to do intangibles...punto doesnt even bunt well or hit the ball to right side of infield......tejada sparkles defensively and shows a cannon for an arm......orioles hitting him 2nd in front of markakis and hes raking.

the average production from a 2b is more than 12 hr per year, 3b has got to be higher....how the hell can they justify a low .200s hitter who cant hit for power, has no speed, and does nothing well.
