Everytime it seems you see one of these aces going against their former team, they really put out their best....just look at Halladay on Friday, Carpenter against Toronto earlier in the week, and many more cases....but today, felt the line was real good value with Santana only around -130 AT HOME against his former team, and the Mets playing REALLY good ball right now, but he's getting lit up, and of course, Mets go 1-2-3 against Cy Young Pavano......go figure


Need a big Mets rally........Pavano looked washed up 3 years ago when he busted out with the Yanks...lets hope he doesnt outduel Johan all day today

Santana still is a quality starter, but he's nowhere near the dominating force he was 4 or 5 years ago.
Twins have the type of lineup that can rough him up, despite a lot of them being lefty hitters.

Many forget that he was suspended for steriods back then. He hasn't just dominated sence then.

Last year he was paid 19 mil (almost)
This year he is getting a 20 mil.

Since April 2009, Mets have paid Santana 39 million dollars, his record? 18 wins and 13 losses.

he hasnt been great for a few weeks. opponents have scored 4,5,4,6 his last 4 starts. hardly dominating. this shouldnt be a surprise to anyone

Santana was never ever suspended for steroids. the real problem is he is coming off a major surgery. throw out the start against the Phillies and he has been rock solid. His past 3 or 4 starts he has hit a rough patch given up 3 or 4 runs but has gone deep into the ball game 7 or 8 innings. I don't think he has lived up to his contract but since he has been here the Mets NEVER give him any run support and it really reflects in his numbers. If he received any what so ever he would still be considered one of the best in the game.
