If Strasburg wins his next 2 starts , he should be an All Star.

Give me a break. He doesn't have enough starts or wins to even be considered by the NL Manager for the All-Star team.

The Red Sox manager was asked this question recently, and Tito almost swallowed his chaw. As OMT pointed out he doesn't have enough starts to merrit consideration. It would also be a slap in the face to those who have played the game a lot longer. If Strasburg is as good as he appears, he'll have plenty of opportunities down the road to make the team. I agree that most fans would probably love to see hime there.

Here's who should be the NL pitchers in this years All Star Game.

Josh Johnson - Fla.
Ubaldo Jimmenez - Col.
Roy Haladay - Phi
Adam Wainwright - Stl
Yovani Gallardo - Mil
Chris Carpenter - Stl
Tim Lincecum - SF
Mike Pelfry - NYM
Matt Cain - SF
Jonatan Broxton - LA
( 2 more relievers)

Strass? I don't know, all the starters I named will have like 15 or 16 starts, they are probably more deserving.

Yeah! You might, but the NL manager chooses the pitchers and not for the fans. Absolutely no way he passes over a deserving pitcher for a kid with a half dozen starts. I'll give you any odds you want and any amount of money on it. Put up or shut up!

why do i have to shut up ? take it easy old man..

why pick a guy the fans wanna see... oh , i know why . casue the game matters now..

doubt strasburg coming in and getting the fans excited would hurt the NL's chances of winning.

I tell you what! Put up $20 and I'll give you 1000-1 odds that he doesn't make the squad.

Aren't there like 86 roster spots available?

Maybe he'll be put into the fan voting for the last spot

I know you are being sarcastic, but aren't there 32 players on each squad?

Another reason he may make it. The All Star winner gets home field in the world series. This came back to bite charlie manuel and the Phils in the ass last year. If he wasnt to field the BEST team possible Strasburg should be on the team. They only pitch one of two innings anyway. Remember starting pitchers can usually add a few miles per hour when they are relievers. Strasburg as the NL closer could be throwing 102-103 MPH heaters with movement like he did in college. He would easily be the most dominant closer available.

He does not deserve to be there even if he was undefeated & had a 0.00 ERA. The rules are in place for how to qualify in terms of minimums. If you do not meet them, you should be excluded. When you make a case for one, it would only be fair to do it for everyone else. So instead of opening up that can of worms, let him earn his chance next year.

As far as the odds go, I'd take a 1000-1 if you would offer it strictly on value. I'd even be nice & 500-1! So how about it OMT lol :)
