In Florida, you have to have your birth certificate & other things now or you can't get it.

They're cracking down on illegals and the feds are now pushing the standards on the states, last time I went had to have social security and my actual birth-cirtificate, they're getting us ready for national ID card that is coming soon. It took about 3-4 hours
Its a new federal standard that the feds are forcing on the states, so it should be everywhere.
that's how it used to be for me too, the fed standard just passed last Jan and the DMV has been a nightnare ever sinceNo time. For the last 20 years, the DMV just mails me my new driver's license every 5 years. It still has me listed at 150 pounds and I now weigh 208. @)
