tragic that this happened to a 2 year old...

Cause of toddler's death pending

Associated Press

LAS VEGAS -- The 2-year-old son of former NFL star quarterback Randall Cunningham has died in what authorities on Wednesday called an apparent backyard hot tub accident.

The Clark County coroner's office identified the child as Christian Cunningham, and said the cause of death was pending.

Las Vegas police Officer Marcus Martin, a department spokesman, said the death appeared to have been an accidental drowning, but authorities were still investigating.

Cunningham, 47, is an ordained minister and pastor of a church six blocks off Las Vegas Boulevard that he runs with his wife, Felicity. Christian Cunningham was the youngest of their four children.

A message left for the couple at the church was not immediately returned.

Cunningham was out of town Tuesday, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal, which first reported the boy's death.

Martin said police were called late Tuesday afternoon to Cunningham's home in southeast Las Vegas after an adult at the house with several other children found the boy in the hot tub and began trying to resuscitate him.

The child was pronounced dead less than an hour later at St. Rose Dominican Hospital Siena campus in nearby Henderson, Nev.
Cunningham, a fleet-footed quarterback, played for 16 years in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens. He was a Pro Bowl pick four times. He also starred at UNLV.

Cunningham retired in 2002 as the career leader in rushing yards among NFL quarterbacks with 4,928. The Eagles last year added him to the team's honor roll.
Cunningham returned to UNLV and earned his bachelor's degree in 2004 in leisure studies. He said at the time he wanted to set a good example for his children.

no doubt it was the baby sitters fault.....
but where the fvck was god ???
what was god doin eating popcorn or letting another disaster like bp happen??
If cunningham is indeed an outstanding god fearin person ..n he seems like he is...WHY the Fvck wasn't God watchn over his family ???,...especially his family since he has a relationship with god of all people.

i guess your response would be , i have no right blaming god n things happen for no reason..i can live with that ...but dont ever fvckn give god any credit for anything because you cant have it both ways !!

Look around.....this world is a shithole. God doesn't exactly prevent evil from happening all over the place. Read the book of Job.

God is ambiguous at times. Following him is tough when there are so many questions. The bottom line is that the Bible says that Satan is the god of this world temporarily, and this world will always be a shitty place.

so god doesn't prevent any bad..
i can agree with that
god is ambiguous...
uh..ok
just dont fvckn tell me he does all good n credit should be given to him when that happens ,but when he has the power to do good n watch over a helpless innocent infant from drowning..it was the ambiguos god ,right who sat there n did nothing !
ok..i wont blame god but blame the dumbass housekeeper which is logical..

..again, you cant have it both ways ..a god of good when he bestows blessings upon those that believe him, but an ambiguos god who does absolutely fvckn nothing for a good man like cunningham or job per say..

u religious guys crack me the fvck up..
my point is ..why the fvck believe in god if he is so fvckn ambigiuos like u say ???
if i was randall...id be phissed at the house sitter but i'd definitely have to question what fvckn good it is to believe in an ambiguos being if you dont know if or when it he that is helping you...
its really screwed up!:ohno:

I believe in God because I have no other choice. There is a God, and I'm certain of that. I believe that God will make all things right in the next life, but there are injustices in this life that will never make sense. But the Bible gives no promises that life on earth will be easy. In fact it promises that life will be tough. And it's not hard to see that there is an evil force at work in this world.

My Christian faith is up and down, sometimes I find it really hard to believe. That's natural.

hey illini
when i was young , like many people, i grew up religious...
however, like you said...it became so hard to believe in a being so ambiguos as you say ...
as you grow up , you examine the injustices of this world n wonder what the fvck is goin on here ?
i cant imagine the horrible pain the cunningham family is going thru ..
i guess a part of me wants justice n answers to things so unfair ..
i guess thats why i refuse to say that there is definitely a god, or that their isnt...id like to believethat there is someone who is looking after us and thats why i said he has some explaining to do 'cause any logical person who was in gods shoes would do something about these injustices..
yeah , i know its a little too deep n philosophical...
faith is reeel fvckn hard..its like you have to throw complete logic out the window...not ready to do that n i guess thats why im not convinced either way if god does or does not exist...its just so unfair for a good guy like cunningham who actually devotes hinself to god n have such a tragedy...i mean... what good did believing n having faith in god do for randall??? anyway, thanx for sharin n good luck even though i cant fully agree with ya
