Ray Allen - G - Celtics

With a report earlier in the day of how LeBron James and Ray Allen could end up in Cleveland together, it's now being rumored that LeBron has spoken to Allen about playing for less money in Miami.
LeBron is supposedly referring to him, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh as 'Dream Team,' and supposedly has already asked Ray-Ray to join the three of them in Miami. It is starting to feel like Bron, Wade and Bosh all have a plan in place to play together, and if they can get Allen to join the mix, they are going to be very tough to beat. Jun. 30

i cant be the only one who is sick of all this lebron shit. the attention he gets you would imagine he would have 3/4 rings and still in his prime changing teams. If he does go to a so called "dream team" i think he will never be in the talks with kobe and mj as one of the greatest, you shouldnt have to be buying titles when your in your prime

This is just my opinion but to me, taking less money to put a good team together, shows more character than someone who holds out for the highest bidder. Basketball is a team sport and I'd rather be remembered as being a part of the best team in NBA history instead of being remembered as ball hog superstar.
But thats just me

It would show character *IF* the players doing it weren't already making so much from endorsements and other business ventures... This has nothing to do with character, and is going to water-down the league even more than it already is.

That being said, I'm all for it as it's within the rules of the game and shows that at least some players want to win (even if it comes at the expense of a competitive league as a whole).

How much less money would all these mega stars have to take?

Would Pat Reily come back as a coach. I can't imagine Lebron would be coached by the Heat's current coach. Can you imagine all the women these guys will be getting in Miami.

Lebron's ego will determine where he goes. If it's big/loyal it will be in Cleveland(which I guess) ...if it's not... it will be Miami. Knicks/Nets IMO never had a real chance...Bulls are a nice team to use for leverage.

Somewhat agree with the first sentance. But if they have Wade, Bosh & James.

Then a guy like Allen would make for a great 4th.

Betting market doesn't seem to think Miami has much of a shot. Looks like odds of likelihood it's:
1. Bulls
2. Cavs
3. Nets
4. Heat
5. Knicks

All this talk and he'll stay in Cleveland - it's the only place where his winning will matter.

If he goes to Miami or NY or Chicago with Bosh and Wade no one will care if he wins. It will be like the US winning the olympics - who cares.

Nah. Why wouldn't he want to play on the best team possible? If he has that kind of pull, then that's to his credit. He should want to play with a lousy supporting cast for a better "challenge"? I don't think so.

why do some of you guys get so worked up about this.. " i'm so sick of it , i wish it would be over...."

all these guys possibly going to other teams is a little more interesting than nothing happening free agent wise...
