I know the halos want this game bad in order to gain ground on Texas in their home park, but it would be very tough to back Kazmir against this line-up tonight. His night ERA is 6.24.

I wonder if the Angels will be able to hit Beltre in his debut. His ERA at Triple-A this year was 2.39.

The Rangers are outscoring the Angels over the last 10 games 7.0 to 5.7 runs per game. That's a pretty huge differential.

I don't know if Texas is smart to give their pitcher his first start in an opposing ballpark. Then again, Beltre is 29. He's not a kid

Player News (last updated: June 28, 2010)
News: Beltre will be called up to start on Wednesday, FanHouse's Ed Price reports.
Spin: Beltre will start in place of Colby Lewis, who had his start pushed back two days to get some extra rest. Beltre has started just five games this season and is not considered a top prospect at 28 years of age, so this move is a bit of a surprise. Beltre will replace Dustin Nippert in the Rangers' rotation

i guess he's winless in his 5 starts in aaa

line looks kinda low, even though kazmir has been shit- you would think he would be -140 ish at home vs a non proven rp

looks like texas may be the play or maybe the over

This game is going to the bullpen early. When it does, Texas will have the advantage. Bullpen ERA comparison Texas vs Angels over the last 10 games is Texas: 1.31 and Halos: 4.70

If Texas can get to Kazmir in the first inning, it may relax Beltre a little, enough for him to focus on the pitching instead of focusing on a ballpark of 35,000 people who want him to lose his debut.

I may be talking myself into a play on Texas.

Kazmir is 2-3 at home and 4-6 at night. Those records are against average teams. Texas is not average.

I've seen enough.

He just gave up three runs. Never understood why Angels wanted Kazmir.

My mistake. It was a grand slam.
