I hear alot of shit talked about Lebron James, and I hear alot of he's a class act talk. Lebron James could make the ultimate decision that could affect sports prices for the future. I think that most of us would agree that Lebron James is the best Athlete in Pro Sports, he is the spotlight more than any other Pro Athlete. This could possibly make Lebron James the Best currently in Pro Sports period. If your the best at what you do, no matter what it is, you should get paid the most/best. Just what if Lebron James accepted a contract for no more than 7-8 million a year. Personally I don't think any pro athlete should make nearly that much, max 3-5 million a year but thats besides the point here. If the Best of the Best was only making 7-8 million a year, athletes salaries would drop tremendously in the future. Meaning that $100 ticket would only need to cost $50, or that $100 jersey would only cost $40. I know none of this will EVER happen. I'm just making a point that this contract, Lebron James contract, could have changed the future of sports. But instead, being the cocky arrogant money hungy pro athlete he is, Lebron James will sign somewhere for a MAX $$$ deal, on top of the MAX $$$ endorsements.... I'd like to spit in his face, not literally but do you remember that move when you'd go to give someone a hand shake, then pull your hand back and breeze it over your head when they go to shake your hand, Now that is Exactly what I would do if I met Lebron James..... So when your watching ESPN and you see them show a clip of a spectator doing exactly what I just stated to Lebron James, you'll know it's yours truly or another member of our family here at TheRx.

Wouldn't make any difference if he took less. As long as the teams are allowed to spend it, the teams will pay more (as long as they can still turn a profit). Only way to change that would be a rule change for lower salary caps or for people to reduce supporting the product. Lebron couldn't dictate this at all.

I agree dictate may not have been the word I should have used. He may not dictate it but he'll sure as hell have a heavy influence...

Tickets and jerseys don't cost such high prices because players salaries are so high; player salaries are so high because people are willing to pay that much. If LeBron James signed for $1 million, management would either keep the profits for themselves or they would use the savings to bid higher on other players. LeBron James next contract will do nothing to change the overall cost of tickets and jerseys. Though they could change real easy. Just have the customers stop handing over so much money and player salaries will drop. Even lower than school teachers if that is what the fans wanted

Why? There aren't 5 people that can do what Kobe and LBJ do.

Its the Katie Couric's and Matt Lauer's whose salary you should complain about. $15M a year to read of a tele prompter. You can find enough people to do that.
