I recently started having problems viewing certain parts (the black text) on the greek's website.

I have a screen shot but I think its too big to attach here. I tried but, probably didn't work.

I know it's my pc, because i can see it on other pc's. I can't see it through IE or firefox.

I asked greek and they said they had never seen it and were not able to duplicate problem so good luck to me.

I have a suspicion it has something to do with Java because my sports options has been quirky of late. I updated to the latest java though.

Anybody had this issue and know the fix?

Any pc sharp know what i'm talking about and how to fix?

Have you made any changes to your computer about the time when the problems started? Upgrading OS or anything like that? Also try this: View source for the page and see if the missing text is in there. That'll narrow down whether the problem is in code not coming through properly or being blocked, or whether the problem is just in the display of the code.

had this problem years ago; seems like it had something to do with the color; only was showing items in black print. had computer friend come over and he fixed my computer. sorry I do not know what he did.

might try going to computer forums and doing a search as you are not the only one who has ever had this problem.

It's probably easier to use Firefox to view the page source. To do that, load the page that is having problems, go to the "View" menu in the browser and select "Page Source." That'll show the actual HTML being rendered. Search in there for some of the text that is missing when you view the page in your browser. If the text shows up in the raw HTML but is invisible in your browser, that lets you know it's a problem with a setting somewhere on your own computer. If it's missing in the HTML, it's likely a different kind of problem.

While in Firefox, also check your Options (Tools>Options). In the "Content" section, make sure you have the boxes checked to enable Java and Javascript.

Ok I am still having this problem. It also happens in gmail when i get an email from certain people. I open it and its blank. Usually its from a yahoo address. Sometimes when i hit reply i can read their email

I've searched online, but really not sure what to search for. Any computer savy folks have a clue what i should do?

Very weird.

Don't know if this will help, but go into your control panel and click on displays or any item similar. Windows gives like 30 display options for colors. The default is like white on blue. Make sure it didn't somehow get set to black on black. I doubt this is the issue, but there are a couple color scheme options on windows that make it very hard or impossible to see black text.

I'm on a mac or I'd give you precise directions... If you can't find the display thing by Sunday I'll be home and can look up exactly how to do it on my pc.

yes i know what you mean, i just bought a new HP at costco, 90 return policy.

I feel like returning it coz i dont like it that much, but ive already spent so much time setting it up and cant imagine starting all over again.

Wish i could be of more help, but i just dont know.

Greek site has not changed for years, I wonder if they will ever go to normal colors.

If its a new computer you can always restore it to factory settings, there should be a partition on the hard drive.

of course this sucks coz you will lose all your data.

nobody ever does this, but its smart to create a restore point once a month or so, so that if something like this happens you can go back.

I believe Windows automatically creates restore points on each new software update.

if that is the case that might be Stinky's way out, simply restore to a date where he didn't have the problem.

I just saw on CNN there is a big TOSHIBA laptop recall.

Call them and check it out.

I dont think the recall is related to the issues you are having, but thot i would mention it.
