What is the infatuation with Chris Bosh?

If I were these teams, I'd go after Dirty Dirk instead. After James and Wade, Nowitzki is the most prized free agent as far as I'm concerned. Guy can pass, run the floor, rebound and shoot anywhere on the floor. He is the complete package.

Maybe it's because he's a white guy. Guy didn't even get an invite to the free agent summit at Wade's pad in Miami.

I would think the big issue is Nowitski's mileage. He's 32, which isn't a spring chicken for the NBA. Plus, he started playing pro in Europe when he was 16. His stats have held up, but I would think he's getting close to the wall.

i think it is because Dirk is a restricted free agent while the rest are all unrestricted

I agree Boshs youth makes him a bit more appealing than Dirk

You make a good point however I'd argue his next 3-4 years should be pretty close to what you see now. How about a max offer for 4 years? He's just much better than Bosh IMO.

Dirk is easily the better player overall, but I guess the other guys are probably right about the age-difference when a team is going to offer a Max Contract.

But if I could sign Dirk to a 3 year contract Max I would still have him over Bosh because his prime-play should stand up that long at least.....

Dirk isn't a restricted FA. Its because it is widely assumed Dirk is going to stay in Dallas and they can offer him the most $ by far. Also, as a 2nd banana type guy Bosh is probably better. Better rebounder/defender by far...

I think Dirk will stay in Dallas though.

So what if it's believed he'd stay in Dallas. Why not offer the money and take a shot at the better player? A handful of teams can offer him any amount Dallas can so I don't see that as an issue.

Dirk is not a slouch on the boards. Bosh averages just 3 boards a game more and with Nowitzki being so much better on offense I just don't see why teams didn't go after him.

Bosh has got heart and wouldn't mind being the #2 on a team. Where as a lot of the other free agents are all about the spotlight.

Bosh plays D. Dirk and Amare don't. Bosh reminds me of KG. Playing in Toronto kept him in the shadows. Love his overall game.

Sorry dude but we'll just have to agree to disagree. I don't think Bosh could handle KG's jockstrap when KG was in his prime.

Fair enough. Of the big men available, he's the only one I'd want to pick up if I'm serious about winning a title.

How can you say you'd take him over Nowitzki?

Dirk is an offensive force, but his game doesn't seem suited to be a #2 option to James or Wade. Besides, Dirk isn't leaving his buddy Cuban. He'll get a deal like Pierce. Personally, if I was a GM I'd call Denver and see about swapping Melo in a sign and trade over any of the bigs out there. Even if he does play the 3 most of the time.

I guess I'm saying all things created equal and you didn't have to worry about where they want to go or whatever. Do you take Nowitzki or Amare? To me, it's very easy.

Dirk over Amare any day. Bosh over both due to the fact he plays on both ends of court. I see your points and we just have different opinons on these guys.
