thanks Tony. if they can lock Amare up, the Knicks would certainly look that much more attractive for Lebron.

Amare sucks. Can't rebound and plays hard half the time. As a matter of fact, he sure played hard when he wanted a contract. Good luck with him.

lol Amare sucks. where do some of you guys come from? the guy had major major knee surgery that some athletes never recover from. played hurt last year and still put up good numbers and this year came out of the gate slow but then dominated.

by no means am I an Nba expert...But everytime i have watched 'em, that guy played like a beast. Plus moving to the weaker conference? Well that could be huge for 'em...

Going to give a max contract to a guy that had major knew surgery, doesn't rebound and has motivational issues. Good luck with that. Knicks look to be back where they started 4-5 years ago. Guy certainly was a beast when he wants a good contract.

upgrade for the knicks no doubt. when free agency started i really didnt think amare would get a max deal but once some of theese players like darko, amir johnson and goodon were signing ridiculous contracts i knew amare would get the max, but really dont think hes worth it. big gamble on a guy who went thru major knee surgery, throw in the fact that he is terrible on the defensive end( fits right in with the knicks) and only plays when he wants imo he is not worth that deal. just shows how desperate the knicks are if this deal goes thru 3years of planning for this and u land amare? Not good. btw if this deal goes thru than u can check the knicks off lebrons list he is not goin to the knicks to play with amare and the cast offs.

really scratching my head here....what are you talking about? the whole reason the Knicks are trying to land Amare is to bring in Lebron.

how do you know Lebron does not want to play with Amare? really don't understand what the bashing about. maybe its cause he played in Phoenix and doesn't get alot of national exposure but he is one of the most dominate big men in the game. Pick and Roll with Lebron n Amare would be unstopable.

he is a career 21 and 9 guy and has averaged 22 and 6 in the playoffs. the rebounds are lacking but you guys are talking like this guy is a bum.

We're simply saying he's not what you think he is nor is he worth a max deal.

he's a great player with nash feeding him the rock. let's see how he does without a great point guard. anybody remember shawn marion? not sure he will handle nyc media scrutiny well either.

NYM,

I think what Enfuego is saying is that, talent wise, he is arguably 1, 1A or 2 at PF position, particularly with Future Legends Timmy D and KG on the downside. Amare, can be that kind of great (not necessarily TD or KG great), but with his physicial ability and overall talent, he should be a lock for NBA 1st, 2nd or 3rd team every year.

He doesn't appear motivated and he played with a great PG.

I do disagree with Enfuego, he is a max player. If he isn't than you basically have 5 players in the league and maybe Enfuego would argue that only those 5 or 6 should get max deals and he might be right.

Pretty accurate B10. I just can't see spending that kind of money on a guy that suffered a big time career-ending type injury and also on a guy that is known for not working 110% every play of every game.

Max guys in my opinion:

James
Wade
Durant
Rose (maybe)
Howard
Paul (If healthy)
Bryant
D. Williams (Not yet but pretty close)

Good Riddance. You can have him.

You must like 30 win teams instead of 55 win teams. Amare has his flaws but you guys are either rebuilding now or pretending you aren't rebuilding but really rebuilding...Kerr left at a good time

Knicks are lost. They have always been my favorite team but I am about ready to give up hope. Amare isn't a bum but he scores all those points because Steve Nash is the league's best passer and because they run a fast paced offense where everyone gets lots of looks. A max contract on this guy while he is coming off knee surgery is ridiculous and I'll be drawing a new favorite team out of a hat if it happens. They have done nothing but fuck that organization up for the last 6 or 7 years.

agree to an extent but remember...he would be going back into D Antonis system where he had most of his success. Douglas has shown signs of being a great distributor of the ball and could really blossom. Also Amare has not shown any real negative effects from the surgery. I don't believe it is that horrible of a move as every one on here is making it out to be. That is if they get a player to compliment him with. Which Id imagine it is not in their plans to sign him and be done with the market.

I think Amare will be like Marion or G. Arenas. They both had great years and numbers and then went elsewhere and have been shit ever since.
