I'm on the phone all day long with clients and i can tell you this... those internet phone connections are hit or miss. If my clients have a good internet connection, I would never know the difference... but if it's a bad connection, it's worse than any land line or cell you have ever heard. It's impossible to communicate and hanging up and dialing over again doesn't fix it. Based on those experiences, I'd say the technology is a few years away from being worthwhile.
