I just don't understand some of these players. Torres was way over to the side but hit it clearly out of bounds over the net. He had no chance to score from that position so why didn't he pass? I see he did the same exact thing again.

Pretty sure he tried to send a cross in front of the net, hoping that one of his teammate's had gotten position on a defender. He just hit it poorly under Paraguay pressure.

Can anyone tell me why that goal did not count?

Offside is apparently what was called. I haven't seen a good replay of the player's positioning on TV so it's impossible to tell for me.

The Paraguayan player who scored was not offside but the other Paraguayan player in the box was. Did the referee call him offiside?

In order for the side judge to make an accurate call on any off sides he has to be able to watch 1. when the ball is played(kicked) 2. where the player is receiving the ball at that exact moment the ball is played.

It's a very difficult task.

Paraguay does not deserve to win this game. They played an absolutely rubbish of a game against Japan and today they are just packing it in and countering 3 times a half. Eventually Spain will find a runner through and put the nail in their coffin.

Not supposed to though
He wasnot involved in the play therefore should not be called offsides.
The only way is if the ref believed that the player somehow helped the play develop or impeded thte spanish.
In my view, neither of those occured.

i believe from the replay i saw, the guy that "scored" was not offsides but his team mate was. the problem is that his team mate made a play at the ball, and if he didnt do that then the goal would have stood.

Just saw a good replay. It was offside but it wasn't Vazquez as the announcers were originally accusing of the infraction.
