First off....this was a pretty good movie. Not what I was expecting.....

My question is the end.......so did he go back to crazy or was he pretending so he'd get the knife and become a zombie?

There are many different endings to that movie. i give it a C. So many movies drag out, just get to the point

what do you mean there are many different endings?

I would give it at least a B.....i didn't lose my interest the entire time which is much more than i can say for many other movies

It made it sound as if he was pretending.....but to me that makes him seem stupid when he seemed so smart in his imaginary world.....hmmm

He was pretending so he acted like he regressed, but actually did it so he could die since they were going to do the brain surgery treatment(lobotomy). Because he posed the question back to the doctor "Do you think it's better to die a good man or live as a monster?"

Yep.....The doctor even looked at him when he walked off, knowing what he meant by the statement and that he was still in his right mind.

I know he said "man" but man is general

he could've easily been referring to the woman who killed her 3 kids and pretended like nothing ever happened (not his wife, but the crazy lady in his fantasy world)

(just playing devil's advocate cause i'm leaning towards pretending....but he has reset in his only other breakthrough)

Left for the viewer to ponder I think. I'm with Shadow1, one of the most riveting movies of this past year. Very hard to change channels once this gets going.
