NEW YORK (AP)—David Wright has overtaken Placido Polanco in the final week of voting to be the National League’s starting third baseman in the All-Star game.

Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols was again the leading National League All-Star vote-getter. AL MVP catcher Joe Maueris top vote-getter overall for the July 13th game.

The other NL starters are: Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina; Phillies second baseman Chase Utley; Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez; and Millwaukee’s Ryan Braun, Los Angeles’ Andre Ethier and Atlanta’s Jayson Heyward in the outfield.

Other AL starters: Robinson Cano, Derek Jeter, Justin Morneau, Evan Longoria, Vladimir Guerrero, Josh Hamilton, Ichiro Suzuki and Carl Crawford.

How Joey Votto who is having a MVP season is not named is a farce.

In today's game Votto was thrown out in the first inning arguing a first inning strike out. He was furious and threw his helmet and deserved to get thrown out. I wonder if not getting picked put him in that mood to go off and get tossed. I wouldn't blame him. Even as a Cards fan chasing the Reds, Votto should be a no brainer pick for next Tuesday.

These are just the starters. Joe Girardi and Charlie Manuel will select the reserves and the pitchers and MLB.com will have a list of players fans can vote for with the single highest vote getter in each league joining their league's team.

Boston had no starters but six players have been selected by Joe Girardi:
- Adrian Beltre
- David Ortiz
- Dustin Pedroia (won't play on DL for approximately 6 weeks with broken foot)
- Victor Martinez (won't play - injured toe)
- Clay Buchholz (definitely won't play on 15 day DL with very tender hammy)
- Jon Lester (may end up as AL starter if he continues his torrid streak in his last start at Toronto on Friday)

Kevin Youkilis will be a strong canidate on MLB.com fan vote AL list. He should be a reserve on the team.

That Hanley Ramirez POS should be in AAA.

His .298 batting average not major league good enough?
Or it is his power numbers that suck?
13 homers - 52 RBI's from a top of the order guy that are better than most teams clean up hitters.
Are you mad because he only has 15 stolen bases?
Or is his gold glove caliber glove not good enough.

Would you like a shoe horn Doug so you can get your foot out of your mouth.
