Beckett throws 65-pitch sim game at The Trop Josh Beckett - S - BOS - Jul. 6 Josh Beckett (back) threw a 65-pitch simulated game on Tuesday afternoon at Tampa Bay's Tropicana Field.The Red Sox had scheduled Beckett to pitch in a rehab game with their Gulf Coast League affiliate, but rain forced the club to change plans. Beckett looked strong in the simulated game and should be allowed to progress to a rehab start this weekend at Triple-A Pawtucket. He's hoping to return to the Boston starting rotation right after the All-Star break.
