Philadelphia Phillies ML -116 (10 Units)
This is a bit of a tough one because on one side of the coin you have Atlanta who are batting only .224 on the road versus left handed pitchers and on the other side you have the Philadelphia Phillies who are batting only .218 versus right handed pitchers in their last 10 games and their only success has come against lefties for some reason. So this will probably come down to pitching and despite both pitching very well, the pick tonight has to be Jamie Moyer. As old as he is getting and as tough as it is to back him, Moyer is 2-1 in his last three starts with an ERA of 1.71 and a WHIP of 0.76 in 21.0 innings pitched in those starts. Kris Medlen is on the mound for the Braves and he has been just as good in recent games going 1-0 in his last three starts with an ERA of 2.33 and a WHIP of 1.09. Having said that, Moyer has faced the Braves twice already this season and the Phillies have won both times. The first was an 8-3 road win where Moyer allowed 0 ER's in six innings pitched until the bullpen made things interesting and the second was a complete game 7-0 shutout win back on May 7 at home. So in two starts against the Braves this season, Moyer has pitched 17.0 innings and allowed 0 ER's. Make no mistake about it, the Braves have been unreal with Medlen on the mound going 9-1 in his 10 starts this season but this is a huge game for the Phillies because of the standings and let's face it, if you're going to go against Atlanta do it on the road where they are only 19-25 this season compared to 30-10 at home. Moyer continues to impress and the Phillies bullpen will find a way to hold this.
