Javier Vazquez and two prospects to Seattle could very well happen, if NYY can lock up Lee to a long term deal.

Red Sox need to get the wheels in motion.

The red sox healthy would be on top of the AL East with ease. They got semi healthy for a few weeks and jumped from 9 games back to .5 then they got destroyed by injuries. They have the best pitching staff if they are all healthy.

With ease?
The Sox if 100 percent all season would be neck and neck with NYY, but to suggest 'with ease' is a bit of a stretch.

I hate the Yankees.

this is really what's wrong with MLB and really needs to be fixed. MLB doesnt reward the shrewd or the people who have solid minor leagues or do their homework.
they only reward teams that have money

occasionally you'll get a TB or Minnesota that can contend, but it's always been about who can spend the most. and when you make bad decisions, you just spend some more to make up for it.

at least NBA has some semblance of a salary cap....Miami just dumped everyone so they could resign wade and sign lbj/bosh. i think lbj and bosh signed for less than they could get elsewhere too

miami still has to sign 9 other people with minimum salaries...

Unitl Bud (light) fixes MLB, the Yankees will keep playing by the rules.
let's not forget everytime NYY goes on the road, to any city, Minny, Arlington, you name it, attendance goes up 20 percent +.
At least NYY is good for baseball in that aspect.

So Javier Vazquez is gone? I feel bad for the guy. He never really showed any greatness with the Yankees though. Cliff Lee deserves to be on an elite team like the Yankees.

nothing against the Yankees per se. but there are no rules in MLB expect spend as much as you want. sure there's some laughable luxury tax, but the yankees dont care
hell, MLB is sorta forcing these low budget teams to actually spend money to be competitive

but all of this is just laughable. why not go after Roy Oswalt too? in a couple of years they can get Ubaldo and Lincecum and get Neftali Perez to replace Mariano when he retires
