What kind of deals are people negotiating this year when it comes to renewing the NFL Sunday Ticket? I just got my automatic renewal bill of 6 payments of $49.99 but am looking to score a better deal.

On a sidenote I was browsing the DirecTV website and they are giving away free HD for life to new customers. I pay $10 a month for HD so by me being a loyal customer I have to pay $120 more a year for programming plus I have older equipment while the new customers get all sorts of free shit and the newest equipment. It is pretty annoying that DirecTV religiously values their non existing and potential new customers over there current customers with years and years of loyal service.

I called and told them that I couldn't afford that and would have to cancel, so they dropped it to $29.99 a month.

superfan is now a standard part of the package. This sucks for me because every yr I would ask for superfan for free and get it. $314 is pretty steep

I remember when it was just 180$

It's just nuts how they continue to jack the price up year after year

Would love to have it. But I am not going to bother I will watch my 1pm 4pm 8pm game and check the net for scores like most people

call them up and tell them your issues....see what they will do...also tell them you are going to cancel the NFL ticket....they will certainly hook you up with that. Then mention how you would like free HD for life since Dish Network is offering it.

You are not getting any kind of discount so its better to call and cancel, they will offer you a better deal, you have time, 2 months

I just called Directv and followed guitarjosh's recommendations. They also reduced my Sunday Ticket price to $29.99/month for 6 months. No luck on the free HD but thanks to you guys I saved some cash.

I got a nice little hook up. They knocked $20 off per month for the Sunday Ticket and gave me $20 a month in additional discounts for the next 6 months. So basically I am only paying $9.99 a month for 6 months for the NFL Sunday Ticket. That is $59.94 total.

They said they could give me HD free for 2 years if I switch to automatic bill pay. So that could save me $10.00 a month also.

If you guys have summer homes, winter homes or friends with DirecTV what I would recommend is not illegal but I'm sure direcTV wouldn't be happy. On an existing account have another receiver ordered when you get the new receiver you can install it wherever you want as long as you have a signal (you'll need another dish, not too hard to come by) just call an tell them the billing info and you can have DirecTV for around 10 a month a different location.
You pay 50 a month and cos of additional receiver, that receiver you can have at a lake house 8 hours away.

This season, I'll do what I've done the last two years. Get Sunday ticket for free.

Every year, DTV offers new subscribers free Sunday Ticket if they sign up for the Premium package for five months. In the end, you pay $75/month, but you basically get Sunday Ticket as well as every channel (movies, sports, music, etc), except for PPV. I'll call up their customer service dept and say "I know this deal is for new customers only, but I really think that's an excellent deal and would like to work with you on this if possible since I've been a customer for so long." It may take a few phone calls, but I'll eventually get through to someone who will speak to a supervisor and make it happen...especially if I ask to get transferred to the cancellation department. DTV will bend over backwards to keep their customers happy.

But as others here have pointed out you can also get $20 off your bill every month, free HD thrown in, etc. There's absolutely no reason to pay full sticker price for Sunday Ticket. It's insane that it's over $300...I remember paying $99 for the entire season when it first came out.

You should also be calling your internet and phone provider every 6 months to negotiate a lower bill. It always works for me. Just ask them why you have to pay more then new customers.
