I know it's difficult, but you need to take off your Mets cap, for a minute, and look at the reality. Piazza was my second favorite Met of all time, but that injury he had where the groin muscle tore away from the bone was a textbook steroid related injury.
Of course, it could just be a coincidence, but that dropoff at the end of his career was way too dramatic, even given all the games he caught.
That being said, he made my season tickets worth every penny while he was with the team.
