RIP Mr. Steinbrenner. My dad was a huge Yankees fan. He was a special agent in the FBI. My father passed away at the age of 39 of cancer. We recieved a signed letter from Mr. Steinbrenner and a team jacket and a few other things letting us know he was sorry. I will was only 4 at the time, but as I got older, I really have come to appreciate that letter so much. So, this hits home a little. Once again, RIP Mr. Steinbrenner.....

George meeting the GRIM REAPER today is analagous to Darth Vader meeting his maker.

George will be missed for his obsessive micro managing and uncanny ability to stir turmoil within the organization. Despite this, he spent hundreds of millions of dollars and produced many World Series Champions. He drove up players' salaries by overpaying so many mediocre ones. Scary character if you were employed by him.

RIP Darth. MLB won't be the same without you.

You got that right CW, a gooder person you would be hard pressed to find.
George used to give to the Jimmy Fund every year Boston had the Jimmy Fund telethon.
Not once in a while, *every* year, not just a token check, a big fat stupid check.
George would tell the Jimmy Fund people, this money is for the kids, keep my name out of this, I don't want people to know.

He was gooder than good.
