This contradicts a report by Ed Price of AOL Fanhouse, who suggested that Showalter could be in uniform with the club by as soon as Saturday or Sunday. It's worth nothing that while national scribes like Price and Ken Rosenthal have reported that a decision could be imminent, the local beat writers have not only said that interim Juan Samuel will open the second half with the club, but that Orioles president Andy MacPhail could take his time before making a decision. Connolly adds that while MacPhail and Showalter have talked several times, an official offer hasn't been made.
