Well, now that the All-Star break is over, the second half of the season gets underway. Overall, after a very slow start going 9-12 (-15.99) with my money management being way too agressive, things settled in nicely both in June (65%) and July (60%) so far using 1* plays only, and for the season I stand with a respectable 58% and have climbed out of the early hole. Hopefully, the second half of the season will show positive results. With that being said, two plays for today.

Year To Date Record: (47-34)(-0.57)

5* (0-2)(-10.00)
3* (7-9)(-7.14)
1* (40-23)(+16.57)

1* Texas -105 Betjamaica
1* Chicago White Sox +100 Betjamaica

Good luck everyone!

GL Ted in 2nd half. With Wakefield you never know if he is going to be unhittable for 6 or 7 innings or give up a few HR's. At almost even money, Rangers are worth a shot. Liking CWS and Atl after a quick glance. Guessing Carpenter laying such a small price at home is going to be a popular play. Really interested in seeing which way SF/NYM line goes. Decent value with Dickey, but maybe Timmy is getting back to normal.

Texas could be a good bet, but like you said you never know what you get out of Wakefield and I haven't totally bought into Hunter yet, his HR/FB and BABIP look lower than they should be. Maybe a small bet on CWS and wait and see what happens with the line on SF/NYM.

Thank you. True that at times Wakefield can be unhittable if his knuckball is in top form. However, in his last 8 starts he is 2-5 with a 5.96 ERA and against the Rangers, he has a 6.09 ERA in 34 outings including this year going 6 innings and giving up 6 earned runs, 7 hits, 5 walks, 3 strikeouts and a .292 batting average on 114 pitches. Guerrero is 10 for 23 with 5 home runs and 10 walks against him and in the one game this year, Wakefield was unable to keep the Ranger runners from stealing on him as they had 9 stolen bases against him in 6 innings.

Glad to hear you like the White Sox. As to St. Louis, Atlanta and San Francisco, SportsOptions is currently showing St. Louis as a 73% public favorite but the line isn't moving, Atlanta a 75% public favorite with heavy movement, and San Francisco a 69% public favorite with no movement. Best of luck whatever you decide today. :toast:
