Matt Forte - RB - Bears Matt Forte averaged 4.5 yards per carry on 132 rushing attempts out of the I-formation last season, as opposed to 2.7 in one-back sets.
The numbers, obviously, indicate that Forte is more comfortable and productive behind a fullback. Unfortunately, new OC Mike Martz has done away with lead blockers, opting instead for Eddie Williams' versatility. This is something to keep in mind for those expecting a rebound from Forte. July 14

In my humble opinion I think Forte presents one of the best value options in drafts this year. Think about it... he was a top 5 pick in most drafts last year, and now he's going between picks 40-60 in most drafts/ADPs I've seen this year. I saw an impressive stat that no starting RB in a Mike Martz system has ever scored less than 8 TDs in a season. Add in the fact that Cutler couldn't possibly have a worse year than he did last year, and this Bears offense is definitely a little underrated this year. Martz loves to get his RBs involved in the passing game, so count on a few receiving TDs as well plus a healthy dose of receiving yardage and Forte is a huge value pick this year. I think drafting him in the late 30's/early 40's is the way to go to be safe. Other savvy managers are probably expecting a bounce back year as well so don't get cocky and wait too late. In my 12 team league w/ a snake draft I have the 5th pick... my draft isn't for 3 weeks and I already have Forte mentally queued up at pick 43, which is the middle of the 4th round. I am extremely confident that he is one of the cheapest sources of 10+ TD's and 1600+ total yards this year if he stays healthy.

They can clinch the NFC's No. 1 seed with a Week 17 victory, Falcons loss to Carolina, and New Orleans loss to Tampa Bay.

It's unclear when the starters would be pulled. Jay Cutler, Greg Olsen, Julius Peppers, and Lance Briggs are other obvious candidates for rest.
