EVERY single time I convince myself that "it's a sure thing", I end up losing the game.

One time I can remember in particular was a few years ago -- Wariors vs. Clippers. The GS Warriors were injury-riddled and had to call a couple guys up from the D-league just to have enough players to play the game. The original line was -6, and it went up to -8 after the news of the D-league call ups.

Of course, the Warriors ended up covering the spread. And I'm still yet to learn my lesson, as I still kinda want to convince myself sometimes that these games are "locks". :ohno:

She ordered the lobster and the most expensive wine and then said she had to wake up the next day at 4:30 to drive a friend to the airport. Lost over two days wages on that one

very few and very far between however.

The one that damn near ended my betting was USA/Greece in 2006. I believe the line was like -800 or something ridiculous. Had USA just to win. Yes I bet the money line in hopes just to bring in some easy money on a sure thing.. Anything but.. Almost 4 years ago already and the final was 101-95 Greece. Remember the game like it was yesterday. Greece simply couldn't miss in the 2nd half. Crazy.. I think I lost a couple grand on this trying to make an easy couple hundred bucks.

Anymore there is no such thing as a sure thing.. I learned my lesson.

Ive told this 1 before. Fla vs FlaSt. for the NCAA Championship. Line was at like 9 for days and late it started going towards 9.5/10.....SIA had it 13 the entire time. It hit 10/10.5 and a few hours before game time started going back towards 9.5/9...I put my entire balance on +13. I think the fav won by 30 or something...it was over at halftime.

If players wrote down all these "sure things" and what the result was, they'd find out that going the other way is the way to make money.

for many years way back we sent a mule to LV to load on Docs Big 10 GOY. We had a rediculous run and a newer friend jumped in after the stories of winning like 10 or so in a row. He puts just about all he had and was the first loss in Docs streak. I told him so.

About 5 years ago either on this forum or another one, a reputable poster stated that he got wind of a fixed soccer game overseas some place. This thing was a "sure thing". Well you probably can guess what happened.

Anybody remember this?

The only "sure thing" bet I lost was back in my parlay days, I had sampras beating george bastl in all my legs, and it was for chump change since it was a huge favorite. Never in a 100 years would I think sampras could lose to that guy.
