I got this injury about 9 months ago from squatting and then doing a long ascending and then descending hike. My doctors have told me it is Patella femoral Syndrome and said to do some exercises for it. I did them off and on then just started up again (Begin physical therapy the 22nd)

Was wondering if anyone had any experience or advice with this kind of injury..

illiatoid stretches. lay on back, leg straight to ceiling, wrap towel over arch and grab with both hands. other leg flat on floor and move your up let across other towards the floor as you keep tension on the towel. Also pull towards head for a great hamstring stretch. Keep knee straight all the time. Strengthening quads will also help patella. Used to wear a band around the tendon years ago for hoops and raquetball. i think it was called Cho Pat. Good luck.

I googled illatoid stretches for some type of video demonstration and couldn't find it anywhere, another name for it perhaps?

sorry mispelled iliotibial. It runs outside the hip and down towards knee. You are basically trying to stretch the outside of the leg thus leaning it across the body so you stretch the hip and also get some hamstring in there. Easier to show than explain. obviously by my attempt
