if you are looking for a vacation, avoid this dump.

We are at the Cove, while nice, 6/5 BJ everywhere, VP sucks and they add 15% tip to all meals. Grant it, i'm not the baller to get comps here, but for the price of $650 a night, you would think you could eat any where on the property.

A buddy is staying over at Paradise Harbour(where I am at now) and this place isn't anythign to write home about either.

Overall, too touristy for my liking. We went to Jamaica last year and it was great, this place, well.....don't waste the $$

I thought the same thing when I was there BB, maybe if you don't care about your bankroll and or bring the kids, so they can see the sharks and different lagoons and the water slides are a blast
I'm with you, I'll take Jamaica any day......
BTW
I found a great rest. called the PoopDeck lol (short cab or 35 min walk over the bridge and bang a left, lobster was amazing)

The Place was Always Over Rated IMHO

I spent a few nights there over the past 10 Years , and even though I don't mind paying for a Good meal... I took a Meal Ticket and saved a ton of money by doing so.

I just couldn't see spending $8.50 for a bagel !!

There are a TON of places that I rather go to, than the Atlantis !

PoopDeck is really very good and the price was right for lobster,,,,But yes I remember my first morning at the Atlantis and went downstairs and had 1 bagel 1 latte and cup of coffee and the bill was over 20.00...I know then it was going to be costly!

Pools, waterslides, etc...was great, but $650 a night, along with 15% added to everything, from a bagel to a bottle of water is a joke. Thing is, you can get totally shitty service and they still get their 15%. Employee's gotta make a killing over there as it is all pooled together.

A freaking bottle of water was $9.50, I paid it, wasn't about to drink their nasty ass ocean water they call water they bring out to ya.

You have $100 in fee's/taxes per stay too. Energy tax of like $30 and a maid tax of $10.

One thing I can say is the hustling isn't as bad as Jamaica. Of course, we didn't venture across the bridge, but from the looks of it, it would have been a treat if we had. Bars on everything from doors to window unit air conditioners.

We hit jamba Juice a few days and the staff their acted as if they were entitled to more than the 15% they already docked us for for whipping up a quick smoothie.

Do they get an hourly rate over there? Or just rape the tourist as much as they can?

K, I'm done bitching. Experienced it once, but won't be back.

They were kind enough to give me casino rate of $250 a night.

They have 6/5 BJ and they actually deal it face down and won't let ya flip them over to reveal the cards to other players. i mean, they game already has a huge house edge, freaking joke. LOL

Would look for that, but I have a rough time making the short flight of 3-4 hours. Couldn't imagine 10-12 hours

Last time I was in the Bahama's was in the early 70's, and I had the time of my life. Guess things change in 40 years.

I would imagine even less than 1/2 price of a place like Bahamas and Paradise island.

frankly I probably wont be going there any time too soon. (unless we get a nice Xmas bonus)

More like 1/5 of the price - we stayed at the second nicest hotel in Pattaya and I billed EVERYTHING to the room - drinks, dinners, etc. and over tipped left and right and it was 2k for two weeks

Myself, I like the Cove and I'm going there for New Years - the pool there is second to none - it's like Rehab just not as wild but much more upscale - I'll sit at the pool all day drinking Vodka-lemonades with good music - take a nap - and go to one of the restaurants and gamble or go to the club there - I don't dispute that's it's pricey but take a girl there and her thong is to the side within minutes - now if I had a wife and all that and did not care for the scene so much I would pass on the Cove and go somewhere else

I was there about 6-7 years ago and it was nice, but definitely no Jamaica. The price of beer and food is outrageous.

seriously, that's ridiculously cheap. Biz picks up big in sept so I thought i'd take a couple weeks at the end of summer and hit Spain, party down there for a bit enjoy some Spanish tail but sounds like you can't beat that Thai value. If I decide to go that way might have to get some info off ya before I book. Ever been down to Spain? Thoughts if you have? I've done Germany, France, Switz, Sweden, Greece and Italy but i'm told i've been missing out by not hitting Spain yet. Gotta go before i'm too old to get the tail I wanna land there lol

Thanks for the review BB. Was thinking of going here next summer and you just talked me out of it. Went to Jamaica with the Mrs. a few months ago and it was great, I wrongly assumed this would be similar..just with gambling - thinking of trying Europe or Asia next...heard lots of good things on here about Asian hospitality.

Al, not sure if you got out and actually experienced the Jamaican culture whle there. But if you didn't, you need to take a second trip.

We stayed in Montego Bay and found a helluva cab driver that kept us fairly safe and showed up around. We went up to Dunns River Falls then hit some small road side shops/bars/towns. Love seeing how other cultures live. Yea, it is a 3rd world country, but VERY interesting. He showed us some of the big Drug Cartel Mansions, a few were vancant and they were serving time here in the US.

The hustling is horrible over there, but it is a very poor counry and most think americans are rich. We met many very nice locals who were willing to talk and let my wife take pictures, it is a beautiful island if you get outside the touristy resort areas.

If you decide to go back, let me know, i can get you his number.....he will take care of you.

How much was the Lucifer's bill? Endless supply of tail in that place....
