Wieters suffered the strain a few days before the All-Star break. It's a pretty routine injury, so he should be ready to go once his stint on the DL is up, but the O's couldn't afford to open the second half with only one catcher. They will recall a position player Friday and use Jake Fox as a backup to Craig Tatum. Wieters has a .672 OPS and six homers in 77 games this season.
