What horrible timing for the Indians, who were looking to trade the reliever before the July 31 deadline. However, since he hasn't pitched since July 11, Wood can be activated before the deadline passes. He'll also surely pass through waivers after the deadline, so the possibility exists to trade him sometime in August. Wood is having a down season but still is one of the better bullpen arms on the market. Chris Perez will handle the ninth inning for the Tribe while Wood is out.
