I thought about him when I was watching the game of the week and there was a Greene playing SS for St. Louis. Turns out it is Tyler Greene.
I looked him up at www.baeball-reference.com and he played last year and is only 30. Is he in Japan or something?

he broke in with power for a ss but his average slowly started to tank. He suffered numerous injuries that seemed to take away from his power stats and with a shitty average in the low .200's he started moving around in trades. He has had a few problems with social anxiety disorder even spending time on the dl and seeking help for it. so basically the perfect storm injuries, reduction in power, low batting average and mental problems did him in. I remember the rangers offering him a spot before this season started in spring training, but believed he passed due to his aniexty and since he probably made 10-20 million in his few yrs, hes basically set if he was halfway decent with his cash to pursue less public jobs

Thanks kidman....now that you said that I remember reading he had that anxiety issue.
Maybe if he gets it together he'll come back.

So many guys out there who fall of the face of the map. Particulary in baseball, because moves are not as publicized as football and many guys end up signing minor league deals, but never make the roster.

Greene filed for free agency for the 2010 season, and signed with the Texas Rangers.[6] Announced on Monday, February 22, 2010, Greene, while suffering another episode of social anxiety disorder, would not be reporting to Rangers spring training. On February 25th the Rangers voided Greene's contract. [7] [8]
