Allen Iverson Could Complete His Legacy in Miami
by Dal on Jul.12, 2010, under News
Did Allen Iverson struck gold last week with Lebron’s Decision? This DailyPhiladelphian.com author suggests that LeBron James may have cracked the door open for AI to not only play in 2010-11, but cap his career with the ring he covets.
There’s strong indication that Allen Iverson has been in talks to sign with Miami based on the fact that Lebron and A.I. share the same agent, Leon Rose.
The Heat need AI and AI needs the Heat. It’s a marriage made in Leon Rose’s office.
Leon Rose?
See, Leon Rose is the agent for Dictator James; he’s also AI’s agent. In fact, Leon rose to the top of the NBA agent profession based on his recruitment of Iverson from David Falk, the former King of the Agents.
You don’t think Rose wants Iverson back on the court? You don’t think he’s going to talk to James about AI joining the team?
Why else does it make sense for Iverson to join the Heat? Well, it just makes basketball sense – A.I. is at a stage in his career where he is a distributor
Aside from the agent connection, AI playing in Miami makes basketball sense. If nothing else, Iverson showed that he is willing to pass and doesn’t need to hog the rock during his brief layover in Philly last year. He was clearly a different player from the 2001 Iverson we all fell in love with.
Let’s hope that this opportunity is seized.

Does anyone really care? The guy is not capable of playing in the NBA anymore. His career is over, plain and simple. If Miami signs him it will be a joke and will give me one more reason to hate the NBA and the Miami Heat.

Anfernee Hardaway wants to play for Miami too, but that doesn't make it a good idea. There's gotta be a better role-player out there for the Heat than AI, a steady guy with speed and the ability to pass the ball.

If he ends up with the Heat because of the chase for the ring he may actually show up for games.

maybe they can sign Reggie too, to get him the ring he so deserves.....

This didnt work when the Lakers tried it a few years ago, only differnece, this version is younger, and probably a little more talented overall, but meshing all these personalities is not going to be as easy as one would think..

At least the Lakers had players at every position.

LeBron and Wade are basically the same type player. They both need the ball and create.

Wagering against the Heat to win the championship might be a good wager.

I have no respect for these old vets who try to get a ring in this way. Is it really as satisfying as having won early on in your career. Seems desperate.

if AI can be a pass first point nobody will be able to hang with them.

thats a big if.

iverson knows though that he isnt the guy anymore, so i think he would concede and be a pass first pg.

hes quick, perfect for the uptempo offense they want.

love this pick up if they get it

Iverson early on was the most watchable player in the NBA, at Georgetown when they asked Thompson after one of their few loses if he thought AI should share the ball more Thompson replied 'Alan is so talented that sometimes it's hard for him to consider his teammates'. At Bethel High 3 days after he QB'd his team to the state championship & was voted Va. Football Player of the year, he scored 37 pts in his fianl HS basketball game, he was only a junior & never played again.

His teammates always stood by him when his star was the brightest, now who knows rumors abound about drinking & marital problems. Its probably too late for another chapter but if he plays I'll be for him and I'll be a Heat fan.

Reggie should have signed with Boston the year the Celtics asked him and they won it. Don't tell me that doesn't run through Miller's mind.

The 76ers were under .500 in all the games Iverson played in.

NUFF SAID.
