Michael Jordan & Charles Barkley call out LeBron.

According to Michael Jordan "There's no way, with hindsight, I would've ever called up Larry, called up Magic and said, 'Hey, look, let's get together and play on one team,'" Jordan said after playing in a celebrity golf tournament in Nevada. "But that's ... things are different. I can't say that's a bad thing. It's an opportunity these kids have today. In all honesty, I was trying to beat those guys."

Barkley added, "He'll never be Jordan," Barkley told 790 the Ticket in Miami earlier in the week. "This clearly takes him out of the conversation. He can win as much as he wants to.

"There would have been something honorable about staying in Cleveland and trying to win it as 'The Man' ... LeBron, if he would've in Cleveland, and if he could've got a championship there, it would have been over the top for his legacy, just one in Cleveland. No matter how many he wins in Miami, it clearly is Dwyane Wade's team."

I love these guys and am very thankful that I got to see these guys play live, unlike some of the impatient punks like LeBron that prefer to take the easy way out.

I never thought I'd see the day when Lebron becomes a 'marked' man.

What if LEBRON never wins a title and TIGER never wins a major again?

I saw Jordan make those comments live yesterday. I thought he did a really good job at phrasing his words to get just the right tone and feel of the situation across to the viewer. Tony Romo made a birdie putt from about 20 feet in that tourney yesterday that was just off the fringe and was heading down hill fast breaking smoothly back to the hole as it went. He drained it and I might make that putt 1 out of 25 times. I can see how the athleticism of many of these guys carries over to their golf game. Well with the exception of Charles Barkley's swing.

God i'm so tired of Lebron stories. Hey Mike you didn't have to call up Larry or Magic you know why? Cause you already played with another guy that was voted one of the best 50 players ever. You had great guys around you. Lebron had a guy that looks like sideshow bob, a 38 year old shaq and a tattoo'ed thug that was banging his mom.

In retrospect, does anyone really think Scottie Pippen was one of the 50 greatest NBA players of all-time?

I dont know but he was way way better than anyone lebron has ever played with in cleveland. Im not saying jordan wasnt the best ever. but lets be honest even without Jordan the bulls still won 55 games and went to game 7 of the semi-finals. How many does Cleveland win without Lebron last year. 20, 30 maybe.

I think this new Heat team mops the floor with the Lakers. Great post up player in Bosh Two great 3 point shooters who can penetrate and draw lots fouls.

They can put pretty much anyone to fill out their starting 5 and they [Miami] will be the odds on favorite to win it all.

I recall Barkley moving from team to team trying to win a championship. I recall Karl Malone leaving Utah to play for the Lakers trying to do the same. Jordan never won anything until he got Pippen and Rodman on his team.

I understand about staying in one city for your career trying to win it all, but you can't blame Lebron for wanting to win a championship elsewhere.

You never know. I doubt Kobe is really worried about them.

The Miami three could not hang with Bird, McHale and DJ or Isaah, Lambier and the rest of those 80's teams.

Why? Those 80's teams had benches.

MJ's Bulls would destroy Lebron and company. It might even be a sweep. MJ was that much better than Lebron or Wade. I'd also take Larry's Celtics or Magics Lakers any day over the Heat.

Pippen was not a top 50 player. Probably not even a top 100 player. Jordan made him good.

We've never even seen this Heat team play a game and you're comparing them to the greatest team in NBA history?

Probably because MJ bulls beat the crap out of that Orlando team that was ridiculously stacked.

Is that the same Orlando team that Houston swept in the NBA Finals?

Refried taco meat affecting Charles Barkley’s memory

You can’t blame the guy, really. I mean if I had an endorsement deal with Taco Bell, I’d be thinking outside the bun at least once a day.

But all those beans and cheese are tampering Chuck’s recollection; either that or the guy just has a selective memory.

Barkley and Michael Jordan chatted with Arizona Republic columnist Dan Bickley at a celebrity golf event this past weekend about how they would never have made the same decision that LeBron James made.

MJ is the guy who’s grabbing all the SportsCenter headlines but his comments were pretty tame and, really, Mike can say whatever he wants because he’s got six rings.

But Chuck, well... he bit off a little more than he can chew.

“It’s disappointing from a competition standpoint,” Barkley told Bickley. “You want to beat these guys. Sports are all about competition, and you want to beat the best. You want to beat Kobe. You want to beat Dwyane Wade. You want to beat the Celtics, who beat you last year. That’s what competition is about.”

Wait a second… didn’t Barkley join a Big 3 of his own? That’s right, Chuck pouted his way out of Phoenix in 1996, forcing the Suns to trade the then 33-year-old forward to the Houston Rockets. He played with Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwon and later, after Drexler retired, Houston brought in Scottie Pippen.

So that’s two Big 3’s Chuck played for. And to get back to that competition argument - people close to the Rockets know that things never worked out for Houston during the Barkley era because Sir Charles was fat, out of shape and chucked bad-looking 3-pointers at will.

It took Pippen, a six-time NBA champion, half a season to figure out the Rockets were never going to go far with Barkley’s fat ass holding the team up.

"He's a very selfish guy," Pippen said of then teammate Barkley in an interview with ESPN back in 1999. "He doesn't show the desire to want to win. That's my reason for wanting to get away from playing with him anymore because he just doesn't show the dedication.

"I probably should've listened to Michael (Jordan) a year ago when he said that Charles will never win a championship because he doesn't show any dedication."

So, Pip got the hell out of dodge and Barkley retired soon afterward without a ring.

A lot of people can criticize LeBron James’ decision but Barkley isn’t one of them.
