Gets worse every year IMO.

90% of the cramped info in there is about shit that happened 5 years ago, and has no relevance to anything that will happen in 2010.

Even his stuff about most improved and surprise teams.... The entire page talks about who he picked in 2002 and how they did. Then finally a blurb at the end of who they will be this year, but little to no info on why.

I buy it almost because I feel obligated to, but this will be the last year.

I disagree totally

Great book!!

.......and I recommend the regional editions also(8 pages on each team)............plus you recieve 4-10 of his newsletters each week for buying the books.

Steele has always packed a high amount of BS in there about stuff from years ago that isn't relevant beyond a sort of "recap" status. That being said, his is always the best. I've had every single magazine ever made and I'll ride with Phil over anyone.

Phil Steele's magazine hasn't changed in years. It's still the best on the newstands as far as giving you infomation on returning starters/lettermen etc. If you really want a thorough breakdown of teams get the Blue Ribbon magazine through ESPN or mail order. About 400 pages with no promotional ads. If you want other excellent sources of info go to the Goldsheet.com (very good individual team breakdown you can download) and even Phil Steele online is very good. Go to Roto World to keep up with individual players and latest injury reports during the season.

I have got the books through eBay for years, but this is the first I've heard about receiving the newsletters? How does that work -FH-?
