i have been watching baseball for many years...& I have never seen that. Donny Baseball just made two trips to the mound in the 9th inning w/Broxton...One of the dumbest managerial mistakes in the history of MLB...

mattingly's mistake led to george sherrill coming in cold w/8 throws...

torres made him pay giving the giants the lead...Bruce Bochy just made Mattingly look like a fool.

Probably one of the all-time greatest embarrassments in MLB tonight,...

what should it be titled?

I hope the Cubs hire a goat? I hope the next manager of the Cubs is the dumbest guy in baseball?

either way...Don Mattingly was humiliated by Bruce Bochy tonight in a big way...a great embarrassment to the Dodger organization...

why even bring the garbage cubs name up if the story has nothing to do with them......
a title could've been "what was don doing" or "don costs the dogers"
you put the cubs in the title just to announce that you are a cubs fan and I dont know why anyone would want to admit that but maybe the thread title should be "im a cubs fan" or "im used to losing" or "we would've won it all if it wasn't for bartman"
good luck.

hybrid...i used the cubs because they have a managerial opening...I also happen to like baseball, so I do not appreciate ballplayers or coaches that do not understand the rules of the game. i have bashed the cubs more than most here...

Let me explain something else to you..... I am a fan of whichever team I am backing on a particular night. I am a pretty hardcore gambler, & i park my 'fan' at the door. Its all about money for me.

Hybrid - I'm a Cubs fan too. The nice thing about betting against them is the extra 20-30 cents you get by fading them. If you are going to lose (i had Houston also), may as well be by seven.

Just a mistake....I have seen way worse....his player had a question and he forgot he left the dirt area...

If the Dodgers had a big lead, we would still be laughing....

He will make a good manager someday....

I'll excuse Donnie for that mistake last night, as VD said, his player asked a question, first instinct is to answer his players (I think the question was about positioning) question.
His first reaction like I said is to answer, not say to himself, "let's see, I just spoke to my pitcher, did I leave the dirt area, or not, if I answer my player, does it count as two trips.........." yeesh, cut him a little slack.

Girardi has a gig, I don't think Ryno wants it, Trammel is a good baseball man, Brenly is the best option out of the four you named.

Girardi has a gig, but I think his contract ends, and he's always fancied coming back to Chicago. I doubt it happens, but it's possible.
Ryno doesn't want it??? That makes no sense whatsoever. Why else would he be working his way as manager through the Cubs minor league system? Of course he wants it. He may not be ready, but if offered, he'd take it in a heartbeat. No question.
Trammel is the current bench coach, know the players best.
Brenly would be coming down from the booth. I'm sure he's said some things that would have to be smoothed over, and the transition would b a bit awkward, but he is a good manager.

Cubs need a complete overhaul - starting with that dump they call Wrigley Field.

defintiely dont want Mattingly....I dont think its even an option, but i dont want him coaching my team...he is from here in my hometown, and have met him on a few occasions.....when he and his family were out, they are extremely arrogant, and act as if they are doing you a favor by letting you see them....his wife was a nutbag who they say slept with anything that wouldnt move....he had a restaurant here, that by all means should have been a goldmine, due to the name, the location, and the type of restaurant it was, but they drove it into the ground......he simply does not make a good impression to anyone who isnt kissing his ass at the time....and this was all in his POST-PLAYING days.....not like it was at the height of his fame
