Touting is legal in the US correct? As long as you are not placing or accepting bets and just advising and selling picks/info correct?

I would certainly think so, if not, the FEDS could make no less than 4,034,304 arrests by this weekend.

A lot of touts are supplemented by sportsbook advertising or referrals to same.....thats where it gets tricky....accepting ad money from an offshore buisness is a no no if ur based in the U.S.

I think the other rule is that they are not supposed to sell both sides of the same game.

Thats why they usually have other handicappers on their same site, lol

This is what I wondered about also. So as long as the website/servers are outside of the US, the US resident is in the clear? Or does a US resident have to "circumvent the rules", like have a person outside te US to be the "on paper owner"?

All three of the sports radio stations here in TBay area have been running ads for a couple different offshore books during at least the past five to six years

There's a BoDog ad in regular rotation at the station which carries the Rays/Bucs/Lightning

"Owens continued: "The only people who can violate the UIGEA are the Internet gambling businesses which accept US financial instruments to pay for 'unlawful Internet gambling' whatever the hell that is. It is the usual silly paradox: the law cannot reach those with whom it complains, and has no complaint against those it can reach." "

I understand what you're saying ... Ok,I don't want to get into sensitive territory here so I'll just ...do a little investigating into this..
I'm not saying I'm thinking about becoming a tout or anything ,just looking into the subject out of interest, that's all....

Here is someone who knows. 1. It is not illegal to sell information. That is all a tout is pitching in the end. Or, if you prefer, its not illegal for someone to pay someone to tell them what to do 2. Contrary to popular belief IT IS NOT ILLEGAL IN ANYWAY TO ACCEPT ADVERTISING FROM OFFSHORE GAMING INTEREST. Just because the DOJ beats its chest and says its not and just because it got a few plea bargins in there campaign of terror back in 03-06 does not make it so. It is also not illegal to have affilate deals with these palces. Do not fall for that, SUPPORTING A CRIMINAL ILLEGAL EMPIRE SHIT EITHER. Why?

I would refer you to the Casino City.com vs DOJ, back in 05 when CC challegend the Feds on all this, but the DOJ withdrew and shortly there after offshore advertising came back big because all felt that they could stand up and win against the DOJ. Since this time its been on.

Also, back in 2005 when no one was paying attention, the vast majority of operators and owners moved every server and everything else to Canada. There is not an owner or anyone in this country whom does this that does not have everything including any payments routing through Canada first and most times last. Good luck finding any proof of anything since all may be incrimanating anything, aint in no US office anywhere.

The internal insiders of this society started making adjustments long ago and its paying off handsomely in the modern day.Or more like paying off more and mor everyday.

Scoops is planning a pick service that would be easy as hell and be pretty popular.

He'll just fade Lang. Mystery gone. Someone really really needs to do this and Scoops, you're it. We'll all pay you for it and you'll gain many many customers beyond the Rx and be living in some mansion by the seashore of San Diego somewhere. God Bless America!

I agree it s not illegal and doubt very serious would have anything to worry about, that being said, if the FEDS arrest you and charge with 1084, you better have a serious attorney and a even more serious spine.
