Alright this [taking shots at Lebron] is getting out of hand.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Magic Johnson took his own swipe at LeBron James on Tuesday, saying he couldn't see himself playing alongside Larry Bird just to get a ring.

The Hall of Fame point guard told Bloomberg News that when he played, he viewed Bird as a bitter rival from their days in college. The two stars later became friends.

"We didn't think about it cause that's not what we were about," Johnson said in an interview at Baruch College in New York. "From college, I was trying to figure out how to beat Larry Bird."

Johnson's Michigan State team beat Bird's Indiana State squad for the 1979 NCAA championship. Johnson and Bird met three times in the NBA Finals in the mid-1980s, with Johnson's Lakers beating Bird's Celtics twice.

"It was never a question in our mind because nobody has ever done that," Johnson said.

The comments from Johnson came two days after Michael Jordan told NBC Sports he wouldn't have joined with Johnson and Bird the way James teamed up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh to form a Big 3 with the Miami Heat.

Don't worry Robbie. The Heat won't win the NBA Championship anyway. They will have their hands full just trying to win the Eastern Conference.

These guys are f'n killing me.....i used to be a lebron hater but give this kid a break......

I think it broke his heart having to leave his city and his friends.....but it was the best thing for him and now he has to put up with all of this.....I think he is a good kid that doesn't deserve this.

hahaha....Kareem, Worthy, AC Green, Scott vs. Sideshow Bob, Mo Williams, and limp version of Shaq.......hahaha.......I actually think the Cavs team was pretty good (Jamison and Williams with one more quality player with Lebron's money I think will make them competitive) but NO WAY are they anywhere near what Magic or Jordan had around them.....

bitter old guys......i still respect Larry so I hope he doesn't throw a cheapshot out there too

I don't like him either, but I agree with you here and when I saw him take a deep breath and look up right before he answered the questino about where he was going, it appeared as if he wasn't sure he really wanted to go through with it.

They say that LeBron, Wade, and Bosh had this planned for quite some time/years, and I now think he just felt pressured & obligated to stick to his word with those 2.

I hope your watching when they win the East, I want you thinking damn that PatsFan got me for $100. OMT, you want any of this? Hands full getting out of the East!

As for Magic, he had Kareem whow as top 10 all time and Worthy top 50 and Pat Riley coaching him. What an idiot. His boy kobe had Shaq and vice versa....

All kidding aside, if the Orlando Magic land Chris Paul which they have a shot to do (Ken Burger of CBS Sports reports he is adamant about being dealt) then that team could challenge Miami.

All the haters and finger pointers need to get a grip.Miami made it possible to get this team,so what if a couple good players are on the same team,it's legal in the NBA,it's not against the rules. It's a strategy ,they are sacrificing strength at other positions to have these guys. They are just players in the NBA not super saiyans coming together to take over the planet.Everyone is mad,mad ,mad for what?,the integrity of the game???Lebrons legacy??? Paleeeese,,,,Drink some Gatorade and put down the Haterade..........

Very good post SHDW01 :toast:
