Current owners bought it at a foreclosure auction. They are an investment group so it's empty right now. We offered around 40K less than the list price plus the owner must pay closing costs.

These guys are still set to make around 50K if they sell. Not bad for a two-month investment. This is one reason we actually think they may consider the deal.

Wish us luck.

G/l to both of you.

In process of closing myself on a new place.

Funny how real estate is so regionally different price wise, anything 300k plus in Ohio is luxury. Of course few reasons to want to live here and unemployment is killing prices.

God real estate is such a pain in the ass, all the back and forth negot and then packing and moving.

its weird how much real estate varies from state to state.

300k here in MD may get you a nice townhouse.

depends on da island bruddah...NON JUDICIAL foreclosures in HI have boomed the last couples of years...many investments groups have attacked the 5 islands...aggressively attacking the market...still can find a good deal, considering the whole foreclosure process is still very, very NEW to the locals...(NJ foreclosure process hit the islands 7 years ago)...peace!

I put in an offer last month on a house here in Vancouver, North Vancouver to be exact on a house that had been on the market for 5 months. I can get better bang for the buck living elsewhere but this was close to our office, 5 minutes away, 3000sq ft. 870k asking, offered 750k, didn't think they'd bite but thought it's been sitting worth a shot. They shot me down didn't even counter. 3 weeks went by and their broker called me and said they're willing to go to 815k, I told them 770 is my max, if they want it they know how to reach me but I'm looking at other places so I told them I could pull my offer soon. They haven't gotten back to me since but everytime the phone rings and i'm half afraid they're gonna say congrats we accept the offer and I'm gonna have to cough up 770 lol. I live about 30 minutes away from the office right now in an area that's amazing and for that 770k price I could get almost double the house here. Back and forth on what to do.

Hope your offer hits enfuego.

about 6 more hours til they make their decision.....considering upping my offer to about $705k? not worth it?

the principle of paying over $700k seems ridiculous.....but seriously what is $10k over 30 years at 4.25%? (actually more like $2000 today and $8k over 30 yrs)

Houses prices are nuts. My girlfriend just got a 4 bed, 3 bath for like 120K. Glad I don't live in Hawaii... Well, kinda.
