Does anyone who ever sat in the bleachers have any advice as to when to show up in line to get a good seat or anything else to do with sitting in the bleachers

day or weekend? if you want first few rows on the wknd, you're gonna have to get there around 9am for 1:20 games. i believe they open the gates around 11 or 12.

since they suck this year and interest is down, you can get pretty good seats an hour or so before the game.

anything else:
if you get there early you can watch batting practice, catch homers, heckle players, and possible get signed balls and hats from some players.
it's super hot in the first row of the bleachers b/c you don't get a breeze.
you'll need sunglasses for sure.
throw visiting team's homers back on the field.
eat, drink, and be merry.

CHICAGO (CBS) – A 24-year-old man was arrested on New Year’s Day for grabbing some of the ivy from the outfield wall at Wrigley Field.

Police said Michael Vite, of the 1000 block of West George Street, was caught on security video as he entered Wrigley Field around 7:30 a.m. Sunday through an area under construction on the west wall of the stadium

Vite ran onto the field and pulled some ivy off the outfield wall, police said. He tried to flee, but was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor.

Back when I was playing ball in college & we were in Chicago playing, a few of my team mates talked security into letting them into the field and getting some ivy. Meanwhile a bunch if us got into soldier field and played a pick-up game of football. Just walked right in and not a sole around to stop us.

An unnerving scene unfolded during Thursday night’s rain delay at Wrigley Field, a fan laying on the warning track in right-center, being placed on a stretcher and getting carted off through a side gate.
This occurred around 7:15 p.m., while the Cubs and Atlanta Braves waited out the storm before a makeup game. Cubs pitching coach Chris Bosio and outfielder Albert Almora Jr. walked out from the dugout and across the empty field to see what happened, joining a group of stadium personnel.
By 9:04 p.m. — or 24 minutes after first pitch — a team spokesman emailed a 60-word statement to a reporter:
“Prior to tonight’s game, a fan was injured after attempting to jump onto the field from the Wrigley Field bleachers. The fan was taken by paramedics to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
“We are unable to provide further comment on his condition at this time. We will remain in contact with the fan’s family to stay updated on his progress.”
