Have you ever been mugged or burglarized?????

well i was heading home from work today and passed my bank only to see cops running around outside and k9 units. My bank was all blocked off with police tape and people were saying there was a robbery. It got me thinking, who here has ever been mugged or had their house broken into (were you home? were you hurt? etc)

also got a good laugh when i went back by later, the police had emptied out, but all the crime scene tape was still up, an asian guy was driving through the atm drive thru leaning his body out his window to pull up the police tape to drive his car underneath to get access to the atm

Robbed at gunpoint twice, once at age 20 playing pool. Went outside and guy pulled gun and demanded his money back. Idiot didnt get and of my money, but did take his back. Another time a few years ago, robbed outside my bar. Also had my bar burglarized one time in the middle of the night.

I had my bike stolen (lock cut and bike gone) THIS WEEK! In broad daylight while I was at work. Pisses me off! I ride the bike 8 minutes to work....or walk or take the Metro and it's about 25 minutes. That's 35 minutes per day X 5 days/week. If I catch the son of a bitch he's gonna get clotheslined!!

had a knife pulled on me by some bum in the red light district of Amsterdam about 6 or 7 years ago..was a very crowded evening with many people walking the streets..I looked around at all the people and kept walking

Guy jumped over the counter and pulled a knife while I was working graveyard shift at a gas station, I gave up the cash, it ended up being less that $100, however he did ask me to get a bag and stuff it with packs of newports before he left. Shortly after I got my concealed weapons permit but have never had a reason to pull, thank god.

some jerk weeds were targeting my roommate in Baltimore because he had long hair. They attacked him with mace and a baseball bat while we were walking home from the bars in Fells Pt. They were yelling something about being a "hippee". I stepped up to take a swipe at them and got maced as well. Little fckers missed me with the bat and then they were off and running into some dark woods. My roommate took a pretty good shot to the back of the head with the bat. We were tentative about chsing them into the woods simply b/c it could have been a set up where a larger group might have been waiting.

I came damn close to getting mugged in North Las Vegas. I worked graveyard in NLV was riding a bicycle to work, a gang of AA's started chasing me...I saw what was going down pedaled my ass of, just escaped, I felt a hand on my back, then one of the Black Beauties said "Damn". That place was robbed at gunpoint also, but I was in the backroom.

I house I lived in , in LV was also robbed. Never any problem anywhere else....except one time in Carlsbad, CA. I lived in the Mexican part of town ( Roosevelt st). My bike was stolen from the mall chained to a not large enough tree ( maybe 10" tall). The Mexicans broke the tree down, I see my bike 3 houses down the street from me....I took it back , they knew they stole it, didn't resist me.

in 05 picked up a new car drove to dallas and car was stolen same day; brand new. got car back 2 weeks later as they caught guy (in corpus criste) driving off from quick mark and not paying for gas. lose everything I had in car and ntrunk but got car back. a year later in dallas again and was eating lunch and car was broken into lost lot of items here (laptop, satellito radio, camera, scanner and suitcase with clothes in it.

traded car off after this as me and this car just had bad luck.

garage got robbed this past Friday..I had just gone done cleaning the garage and kept the garage door raised appx 12-18 inches for the cat and I came back out 30 mins later and my $300 Lawnmower was gone....when I was in college my apt. got robbed and they took everything I had that was worth something....tv, clothes, cds, vacuum...everything....and I was poorer then...really pisses me off.

My friend and I got rolled in New Orleans. Went down the WRONG street and ended up in the projects. Anyone who is familiar with NO knows exactly where we were. A midget back man held a sawed off shotgun to my head and I was surrounded by some of the most scary women and men I will ever see. My friend was jumped behind me and was fighting with the dude. They took my wallet and I asked them if I could just have my license back. He pressed the gun to my chest and said "you are lucky if I don't
blow a hole in you".

My friend fighting was such a distraction that I believe it is the only reason we are alive today. He had nightmares of this event for almost 10 years and to this day tells me "I can't believe I was fighting the guy when you had a gun to your chest"..scary shit..

I remember when I was a PFC in Marine Corps, I had lost my Military ID once. It was a huge ordeal to get a new one, and I was called into the First Sgt's office and ripped a new one and he told me if I ever lost it again I'd get a page 11. So I get my new military ID and I shit you not, not even a week later I'm walking out of an AMPM in L.A. with some friends, as we're walking to our car, and a car full of cholos pulls up right next to us, 3 guys get out quick, and they point guns at us and demand our wallets. My friends start pulling out their wallets and give it to the cholos except me. He point the gun right at me and yells at me to give him my wallet, and I tell him I can't. I know it sounds stupid now and I could have been killed but I was more scared to face my First SGT than take a bullet. So the cholo takes the but of the gun and smashes my nose in, he's grabbing for my wallet and next thing I know we're on the ground wrestling. I remember looking up and his friend who had his gun pointed at us as we wrestled. I finally got free and started running thinking I was going to get shot in the back, but he never fired. At the corner of the street there's a bar I run into it with blood gushing out of my nose, I tell them what happened and the whole bar emptied out to come to the aid of my friends that were still at the AMPM. The Cholos took off and I spent the night in the emergency room. My nose was completly smashed into the right of my face. But they never got my wallet and I never had to explain how I lost my military ID again only a week later to the 1st SGT.

Got robbed at gunpoint in my own home a few years ago here in Costa Rica. A long story I will not bore you with but I emerged unharmed but the thieves took most of my valuables (I only had a little cash in my billfold) including my wife's jewelry, my step daughters new laptop, several TVs and my work PC. The girls were out of the house taking our Rotwieler for a walk and the thieves broke in the front door while I was working in my office at the rear of the house and took me by surprise with a good sized pistol at my head.

To their credit Rx management had a brand new PC with all components delivered to my home by 9AM the following day.
