Best way is take the LIRR at Penn Sta. / MSG leaves you off Right there.

What BAS said.
No fuss, no muss, you get to experience a real New York experience riding with the local homers.

ok sounds good, thanks... thats like a 10-15 min drive though right?

No, Not Really. Because of the time frame ( Rush Hour Traffic ) Plus Tunnel ( Toll )
So By Cab, it could take 45 minute

Rush hour here in NY starts as early as 3pm and will last at time up to 7pm

Like I said, Better off heading over to Madison Square Garden, below is Penn Sta
when there are Trains every few minutes that head to Citi field on Game days
That should be a 15 min ride. ( maybe less )

Depending on time of game mass trans is best. Will take you about 50 mins from downtown on mass trans.

So you are Not Confused .......This is NOT the Subway, it's the Long Island Rail Road

Don't want you looking for the Subway, because there is a Subway there as well.

IMO, this is the Fastest, Safest and Cleanest way to go there.

Otherwise you could take the 7 Train
