be it sports cards or autographs, who else collects sports memrobilia? i collect autographs (mainly football, baseball and hockey). i remember i used to go to team hotels with my friends when i was younger, and get autos at ballparks and training camps. now that im a bit older i dont get nearly as many in person, just the odd occasion but i still have a passion for collecting them. anyone else? whats your favourite autograph? any good autograph stories? ever obtain any in person?

i was into cards since i was about 10 (although the sport i collect has changed a few times). I was really big into basketball in the late 90's when autographs were just really starting to come out in packs. I had a few friends that were really into it as well. I remember my first big autograph pull was a vince carter/mike bibby dual co-signers rc auto from stadium club, booked around 250 when i pulled it. I think my previous high card at that time was around $20 (was around 13 years old at the time. My friend and I started working at 2 different sports stores in tennessee right around the time we got the titans. We had alot of private signings with athletes like kearse, drew dennett, wycheck, hopkins, etc. so got to meet alot of those guys. Kearse and drew bennett were regulars every few months just wanting to check out what cards of them we had or new gear that came in. every so often i get back into cards, mostly prospect baseball players in the minors to flip when they take off

kidman, thats awesome about the card store. really awesome. i got a few card stores here near where i live, as well as one hugeee memorabilia store that has signings once a month (mostly hockey though as thats mainly all ppl care about here). its too bad because i love football but its impossible to get football autographs unless im going to the states or i buy stuff already signed (which i dont like doing as much). i dont know if u saw my post in your threat about most memorable trips, but i collected tons of autos that way. some really great ones

I still have my card collection from when I was a kid. I have a lot of 70's football cards and 80's baseball, in mint condition - still in the factory packages.

I have a Tim Tebow autographed football. It's unique because he signed it in Dec 2005, when he just committed to Florida and before he enrolled at UF. His HS jersey was #5 (his college jersey was #15). He signed the football, "Go Gators! Timmy Tebow #5". There aren't many #5 Tim Tebow footballs. I probably should have sold it at the peak of his popularity. I'm sure I could have gotten a $1000 or so....

Yea, I got plenty in the storage building just sitting there, was fun when I was into it but now its just aging like a fine wine I suppose.A few years ago during a move a lot of my favorite stuff went missing so I just kinda lost interest after that but I'll still grab something cool from time to time if it catches my eye.

Have many Oakland A's items. World Series Autographed Baseballs and Bats, Uniforms, Equipment bag, Blue Moon Odom Jacket, Autographs etc.

I had a huge baseball card collection. Sold them to a dealer for lots of money. Had complete sets in Topps 1954-1960.

Does anyone know a Yankee fan that would be interested in a one of a kind item
I have the letter E that was on the scoreboard and part of YANKEES when Yankee stadium was refurbised in the 1970s.
It is a pretty cool item.

I scored a nice hit when I bought a box of "Topps Finest" football cards in 2007. Gotta signed APeterson green refractor serial numbered #1 of 20 (or 25, I can't remember). A comparable card in the same class just sold for $1400 on ebay. I have the #1 card in the serial and it's sweet. If they make a super bowl run I will see it this season.

I have some. Mostly signed baseballs, the most valued Billy Martin, Mike Schmidt, Ozzie Smith, Barry Larkin and Dusty Baker. But my most prized memorabilia is a signed photograph by Muhammad Ali and Ken Norton when they fought each other.

Umpire Ed Montague was a friend of my neighbor and got each ball signed in person at the games he was umpiring. They were then placed in a protective ball cup. My neighbor gave them to me as gifts. He had incredible memorabilia from all sports. Gloves signed by Muhammad Ali. Hockey stick signed by Wayne Gretzky. I could go on an on. He had a whole room dedicated to his memorabilia. He is now in his mid 80's.

I have tons of baseball cards. I have OJ Simpson's rookie football card in good condition. I should have sold it during his trial, now probably worthless like him. My favorite is my autograph of Walt Clyde Frazier. I remember the hay days of those great Knick teams. I also have many more autographs. I can't even remember all the ones. My most forgettable one was trying to get Wilt Chamberlin's autograph when I was maybe 12 or 13. He told me no kid. I hated him ever since. No tears were shed for his death. The guy was just nasty. It was 1976 I was in Montreal for the olympics with my parents. He was at a soccer match at Olympic stadium. When we walked out of the stadium there he was all 7 feet of him walking with ANDRE THE GIANT. Andre was great and signed for me but Wilt just kept walking and said no. Mind you my father cursed at Wilt saying what an asshole for not signing for me. I was very polite and said please......Oh well I guess thats why I love my Walt Clyde autograph.
