Jackson may be limited, but he'll be practicing with the team barring a last-minute surprise. While he still brings red-flag risks as a mid-to-late first-round pick in a low scoring offense, this news should ease concerns about his health. The Rams have displayed the utmost confidence in Jackson as the offensive focal point once again in 2010.

This is a great sign, as the Rams will ride Jackson hard again this season with not much behind him on the depth chart and a rookie quarterback likely at the helm. He's still a risk, though, and isn't out of the woods, yet.

Steven Jackson - RB - Rams Steven Jackson (back) showed up to training camp eight pounds heavier than his 2009 playing weight "and every bit as fast," according to ESPN's John Clayton.
"Jackson is a freak," adds Clayton. S-Jax is now sitting at a bone-crushing 244 pounds with just five percent body fat, preparing for another season of battling eight and nine defenders in the box. His career goal is to play 12 years, and he's gunning for his sixth straight 1,000-yard season in year seven. All reports on Jackson have been overwhelmingly positive since his April surgery to repair a herniated disc. August 7

Steven Jackson - RB - Rams Steven Jackson confirmed that "everything is going right on schedule" in his recovery from offseason back surgery.
S-Jax was held out of last weekend's intrasquad scrimmage, but his reps were ramped up this week, and the team hasn't ruled him out for Saturday's exhibition opener. Owners should be confident in him as a late first-rounder. August 11 - 6:58 p.m. ET

Jackson "appeared to get a good amount of work," according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He's on track to start against the Raiders in what should be one of the juiciest matchups of his season. Confidently start him as a RB1 this week.

Jackson also practiced fully on Thursday. He's ready for a full workload against Oakland. The Raiders let Chris Johnson get loose for 150 total yards and a touchdown in the opener. Jackson is safely an elite RB1 play.

It's a huge relief for the Rams, who have next to no depth behind Jackson. The running back's status for Week 4 isn't known yet, but it doesn't appear this will be a long-term ailment. Kenneth Darby and Keith Toston would fill in if Jackson can't go against Seattle.

Jackson revealed that he's yet to attempt to run this week. He'd like to get in at least one practice on Friday, though he concedes that he'll be a game-time decision at best this week. After those comments, it's hard to get excited about Jackson as a RB2 even if he attempts to play this week.

Steven Jackson - RB - Rams Rams RB Steven Jackson was the last player left at the Rams' facility Saturday rehabbing, and plans to warm up early Sunday in an effort to play.
Mike Sando of ESPN.com believes that Rams will "play it safe and hold him out of the game." Jackson figures to be limited even if he does find the field, and since the Rams play at 1:00ET, you would be hard pressed to put him in your lineup. He can be safely penciled out. October 3 - 8:13 a.m. ET

Supposed to be limited today from what I'm hearing. He'll be active though.

Steven Jackson - RB - Rams Steven Jackson (groin) did more work Thursday than he's done in any practice the past two weeks.
Though he's expected to keep the groin harness this week, Jackson says he's feeling better than at any point the past couple of weeks. Barring an unexpected setback, he's a lock for 20+ touches against a reeling Lions run defense this week as a RB1. October 7 - 3:34 p.m. ET
