Wood will throw one minor league rehab inning on Thursday at Double-A Akron. If that goes well, it's all systems go. He is expected to take over the ninth inning almost immediately, with Chris Perez shifting to a setup role. The Tribe will try to trade Wood via waivers before the end of August.
