The Chicago White Sox have acquired veteran right-handed pitcher Edwin Jackson from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for right-hander Daniel Hudson and lefty David Holmberg.

Jackson, 26, is 6-10 with a 5.16 ERA (77 ER/134.1 IP) and 104 strikeouts in 21 starts this season, his first with Arizona. The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder threw the second no-hitter in Diamondbacks history on June 25 at Tampa Bay, striking out eight batters. Jackson has thrown 7.0 IP or more nine times this season and struck out a career-high 12 batters on May 17 at Florida.

Jackson is 44-49 with a 4.74 ERA (424 ER/804.1 IP) and 576 strikeouts in 160 career games (131 starts) with the Dodgers (2003-05), Tampa Bay (2006-08), Detroit (2009) and Arizona.

Edwin sucks, he's not going to cure their woes.

Is that the 13 games over.500 and 1 st place woes? Kenny williams has been known to take shots on high picks that havent panned out. Floyd and danks he git for nothing. Dont put it past don cooper to tap into jacksons ton of talent.

Right on ! A lot of clubs wish they had those type of woes ! My 80/1 shot just looks a little bit better IMHO !

woes as in trying to find a solid 4th and 5th starter for this team. You and I both know freddy garcia is starting to falter, and edwin is not going to stop the bleeding.

Jackson was 13-9 last year with a 3.62 era with Detroit and He is only 26 years old. Last year He had 70 walks but 161 Strikeouts. He has potential to be a decent number 4 or 5 starter and sometimes all these young pitchers need is a change of scenery. We aren't passing grades here on a number 1 or 2 starter.

I bought it for Blue Edwards on June 26 and bought some for myself. The White Sox had just won 11 straight games and the M here in Las Vegas had them at 80/1. I can almost always get the best futures odds here in Vegas verses any of the offshore books. You just have to know which
Casinos to look for them. Harrah's and MGM suck as does Stations and Coast !

Im hearing the same thing thing.

as much as i would like to see dunn on the south side i think i would rather keep jackson not have to give up anything else and see what cooper can do with him. jackson has excellent stuff i think a few weeks with cooper and he could be a stud.

I got 34-1 on em. I barely follow baseball anymore but I'm liking this pick! Hopefully they can get Dunn, bats seem to be what they need.

The best futures here in Vegas comes from the M, Venetian, Wynn, Cal Neva,The Las Vegas Hilton and sometimes Treasure Island. I used to sometimes get decent futures at the Palms but the Palms is no longer a independent Book as now the Palms Sportsbook's is actually the Southpoint lines. I used to find some great futures at the Plaza downtown but it's a Lucky's Sportsbooks now and most of their futures suck.
