I drive it all the time. Most of the time, its faster to just take the dam route. If you go during peak times during the middle of the day, go through Laughlin. The construction can really delay things.

Last time I went up 2 weeks ago, I took the dam route on the way up, and the Laughlin route on the way back. Dam route was faster by a good 15 minutes.

why not take the hoover route and stop and learn about one of the world's greatest engineering feats

I have taken that route no less than 20 times. I just want to get there, gonna be a long drive. lol

Yeah, just take the dam route. Just make sure you don't wander off the dam tour but please take all the dam pictures you want. Now are there any dam questions?
